a lot of us were very sad to move out of paso
believe me -I hate changes-
Rich wanted to move out years ago because of local politics and I kept saying no
we really DID out grow paso a long time ago-what can I say -it changed-to many spectators -BEST FREE CAR SHOW FOR THEM IN THE WORLD -
Don't blame LIsa Soloman the police chief --she has a boss -THE CITY MANAGER
The retired police chief Cassidy must have been a bit disapointed that he had already retired when we left
SANTA MARIA will be the second coming of Paso,
remember Paso wsn't built in one year
Maybe the business in paso should be on top of their city council and attend all the meetings ,maybe things will change and they would know what calls are being made as far as their lively hood goes
I'm glad we moved -it took awhile to get over it ,believe me but WE FELT SO GOOD TO WALK OUT OF A WRAP UP MEETING WITH SANTA MARIA WITH OUR HEAD HELD HIGH -they were happy and had nothing but positives to say to us -YES-the police too
What a great feeling
so all the winers about Paso -how long would you kept jumping those hoops?
I should have kept my mouth shut but it's so hard

I loved having friends visit from out of town as everyone gathered along Spring Street waiting for the parade of cars and then gathering for the Main Street dances and then the car show at the park the next day. I know that each year it was growing bigger and generating more of a diverse crowd so the city may have felt safety was an issue but I heard that it was the decision of the actual show to move out and that the city could have fought harder. Maybe it was a money thing, I'm not sure but I think we should support the groups that actually still tried to bring in some fun. Did anyone attend the Kruse auction at River Oaks? By the Jr. College???? It was a blast!!! One car went for $240,000!!! I could see that event growing. I also heard that Main Street still had a dance but I think the weather turned and was freeezing!!! Guess it would have been freezing if our old crowd was there or not. The point is... It is sad, we miss the old one but nothing can't be replaced and improved upon. I think they may have something with Kruse! Check it out. I am sure they will have it again next year since it seemed to be successful.
