Upside down American flag on house - Port Royal Rd

Has anyone else noticed the upside down American Flag outside the house on Port Royal Rd, just as you enter Crowne Pointe FROM Wyngate Estates (house on left)?

It has been this way for a while, and oddly is displayed next to a Marine Flag.

Flag standards state you should never display the US Flag this way unless under "Dire Distress".

As a fellow veteran (Army), I am surprised this person is showing our National Colors this way. I am thinking it is a protest of some sort, but they should know better.

What is the deal with this?

A good question to ask might be: "When did this homeowner start this practice of displaying his flags in such a manner?"

Maybe it has been upside down since the election yet, if you're saying it has something to do with who was elected.....tsk, tsk. I abhor prejudice. I don't think it has to do with that as the flag represents our country; not who's in office.

I personally think (as I've seen flags upside down before and I too don't like it one bit)....that it is a disrespect towards the United States of America. Someone that is bitter or vengeful. I wouldn't want that person in my life.

Whoever judged an entry of "the flag should be respected" with a big "X" - what are you doing in this country if you don't respect our flag?

PSA: Just so we're clear here: When you Spring Hills sophisticates judge a post with the "racy" icon, you DO realize that "racy" is not the same as "racist," right?

This confusion can be the only explanation for the frequent preponderence of the confused and inappropriate use of this icon. I see it frequently on the Spring Hill forum and yet, whatever is judged "racy" is anything but.

My guess is either you are the homeowner doing this, or maybe all the half-wits in this country who are scared of change are "banding" together and have decided to show our country's most recognized emblem (the U.S. Flag in this case, should you have trouble keeping up) in a way it should never be shown.

OR, perhaps all the so called Marines are coming together to display all their "anguish" and "angst" towards this *gasp* half black man we have in the white house.

Bottom line is, sure this guy has the right to his opinion. He just should not use our flag to show that.

Instead he should wave that Marine flag upside down. Or maybe a picture of Obama upside down. To show the American Flag upside down in the way he does discredits any so-called service s/he may have given to our country. Probably got 1 month into Boot Camp and whined like a child in order to get kicked out and now thinks he has the privelege to wave the Marine flag.

If anyone has any qualms with Obama's ethnic background, they should realize he is half white too. It is too bad that has to be an issue in the first place, but no matter what you'll never rid the world of half-wit rednecks who cannot form their own opinions anyway.

I agree that abusing the flag is not the appropriate way to voice your opinion. I am surprised that a Marine would do that. As you point out, there are other means to show your disdain.

Even if I don't like someone flying the USA flag upside down..He does have a right to do it.. That is one reason my dad give his life for in in Viet Nam.

Maybe this guy could fly a YELLOW flag too.

ok first of all ladies and gentlemen i am from spring hill and i am a us marine currently station in japan ok first off all.i am very dis appointed in this act of who ever civillian or previous marine has done this act. if it has to due with who are president is then it is ridiculous one because as you known as a marine we are allowed to voted and do have are opinions on the president or who should be but we do protect and serve who ever is at that current time. Now as for you I live in Spring hill i don't give a d*** if that person went all the way to the crucible and quit and didnt it graduate. he does not nor will ever rate the title a marine that is something you earn. No matter who is the perpatraitor of this acft i am very disgusted due to the fact that i lived there and i am a marine so for something like this to happen really bothers me. Also i live Spring hill i know we are from seprate branches and i have worked with a few soliders that werent half bad so i do respect your opnion to a point.As for every one else I am upset because for all the crap i put up with over here or hear in the news Its messed up because i am one of some of the few people you all know that pet up with this and put our lives on the line just so you all can do acts like hanging the flag upside down or like this post opinions online,write or publish articles about some thing you have no idea about. i will end my comment but i will leave off with this final statement its kinda screwed up that i am protecting the people where i come from and this is what i get in return a disrepectful act of hanging our flag upside down along with my branch next to it and people putting us down....
