I received the letter yesterday also and i think it was a great idea. The letter came from the Santa Fe Springs City Council there were five signatures on the letter. Gary Mendez is a liar and a dirty politician and SFS or any other city for that matter does not need someone like him in office.

Gary Mendez doesn't even have a driver's lic. it is suspended. That is why his little helper is always drving him around. He is political POISON.. Santa Fe Springs can't have a LIAR like him as our councilman NEVER!!. Still waiting to see that 460 financial statement Gary... What are you hiding?? Who are the deep DIRTY pockets behind your campaign.. The windows in your glass house are cracking.... oh wait you have NO house?? We don't even know where you live this week.

Don't get excited, we all know Whittier Daily News endorsements don't mean nothing!

I think the City Council did the best thing in condeming GARY MENSO MENDEZ. We don't need the likes of him in the city and as far as being here for 150 years, BULL!!He has done nothing for us while sitting on the Rio Hondo Board except making sure his friends are awarded big contracts to repay what he owes them. I wonder if the LA DAs office would like to know this? Hmmmm?

Great information. Thanks. Mendez clearly has a problem with authority and possibly with women in general. He evidently also has a problem with understanding the value of the peoples' money... I'm not sure how an ocean view room would have enhanced his education at the conference. It's time to make "politics as usual" unusual. Gary needs to move on.

For those of you that keep insinuating that Mr. Zamora is a child predator, use a little common sense: a child predator would NOT be allowed to teach in schools! Teachers are fingerprinted when they are hired; these fingerprints are then submitted to the Department of Justice. By California law, a sex offender is not allowed to teach in the schools. Perhaps there is a child predator in the area with a similar name, but the name is hardly uncommon.

In a previous political campaign, a "last-minute" attack postcard went out to SF Springs residents suggesting that his opponent - a day care provider - was keeping children in cockroach- and rat-infested conditions, a charge which was totally baseless and without merit. The source of the postcard was a non-existent "Concerned Citizens" group, although many believe that Mendez was the source. I would expect a similar series of "smear" postcards to mysteriously appear in SF Springs residents' mailboxes tomorrow, on the eve of the election. I sincerely hope that the residents of this city see through Gary Mendez' lies and distortions and deprive him of the political power he seems to think he is owed.

One can only hope that the voters are getting the correct message about Gary Mendez. Thank you for the clarifying information about Mr. Zamora - the candidate. You're right, he wouldn't be allowed anywhere near a school with a felony record.

I would encourage voters to recognize Mendez' last ditch campaign mailers for the lies and filth that they will be and vote for any of the candidates who have already proven their worth to the community.

Just got a hilarious robo call from "Gary" (Mendez) accusing Louie Gonzalez and Lillian Puentes of everything just short of sinking the Titanic, though I'm sure Gary would find that they had a hand in that, too. Same old tired lies and innuendos, just stepped up a level now that the election is close and Desperado Mendez is smelling his own defeat. Give it a rest, Gary. The end is near....

This is LIllian and it REALLY is me... I am so upset that this election has come to this. I KNEW before filing papers I was going to have to develop THICK skin. What I didn't know was that I was going to have to explain to my 10 and 7 year old
children that Mommy was NOT going to get ARRESTED like Mr. Mendez has said in phone messages he is leaving. I have run a legit and COMPLETELY LEGAL Campaign. I have had 2 addresses my ENTIRE 42 years of life 9102 Vicki Dr. and 10728 Lake Center Pk. Ln. Both in this CITY I LOVE. I have been a unconditional volunteer,coach,neighbor and TRUE public servent to S.F.S. I want to be a councilperson to serve the residents and work hard to always make things better. I filed ALL financial paperwork I have HID NOTHING. I have not picked up 1 SINGLE ballot. The only correspondences I have mailed out have been to promote and about ME. I work as an employee of Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, do you REALLY think I could be employed by such a respected organization if I was involved in unethical campaign practices? I just want the record set straight I am NOT doing ANYTHING wrong but simply trying to win an election. I filed my 460 all 3 times. Mr. Mendez has not filed once. I have told the public where my money is coming from, he has not. If elected I will work hard but more importantly continue to be the devoted wife, mother,coach,friend and dedicated resident I have always been. Thank you and God Bless. PLEASE REMEMBER to go vote on 11/3 this Tuesday "Let Your Voice be Heard"!!!

We know it not him it's his dad and yes they live in the same house. I cant belive the city would let the christmas float stop at the zamora house knowing that Mr Zamora is a child predator. Shame on the city council for sending that float there. Lets see if they send it there this year. NO CHRISTMAS FLOAT TO THE ZAMORA HOUSE.OR WE WILL PROTEST THAT DAY.

Gary Mendez needs to go back under the rock he came out of or better yet, he needs to go back to the city he REALLY lives in! I am completely disgusted at the way this election has turned out and it is all Mendez's fault! Every election prior to this has had minor shenanigans, but nothing like this! I hope the residents make their voice heard tomorrow and don't give that jerk ANY of your votes! We don't want or need any of that in OUR city!

FYI - Lillian is not the one behind those postcards that went out on Mendez. He should get his facts straight before slandering someone with his "infamous" phone calls! I hope she does sue him for defamation of character and slandering because she would definitely win!!!!!!!!
