Well, Sam Farr had no trouble backing the TARP bail out and the $700 Billion Stimulus packages...that only seem to have bailed out the banks and Wall Street...with no trickle down to Watsonville. Now Sam tells us that more financial counselors must be trained to help the foreclosure victims...what's that all about and when is it going to happen? Congress can "buy" the Health Care vote of the Louisiana Senator with a $300 Million free lunch and Watsonville can't get mortgage relief. I'm not real sure the Democrats really have their arms around this financial system (nor do I think the Republicans do either). The Community going back to the same old tired politicians for answers seems to me to be the road to nowhere.

The Community going back to the same old tired politicians for answers seems to me to be the road to nowhere. They take too much MONEY from FINANCIAL INTERESTS and they're too IGNORANT, most of them, to do more than read the SCRIPTS the financial lobbyists hand them. And SAM, after all, is a rich man. The point is that an honest congressmen, senator, or president who really knew what was going on would tell the American people, "All the wealth you accumulated in stocks and home appreciation is a fantasy, a ponzi scheme, and it's going away." But they're afraid of being tossed out of office, don't want to risk their nice jobs even if they do understand what's going on. So most of them proposed band-aids to put on the problem and attempt to kick it down the road. Human nature, I guess. Eventually, you're right; they should be gone, and THEY WILL BE GONE, or the system will lose the confidence of the American people. That happened in the '30s, and that's how we got the New Deal. There were RIOTS in the STREETS, SOLDIERS in the STREETS. It was all coming apart. I'm sorry to say that THIS MAY HAVE TO HAPPEN AGAIN to force the elites to give up and GET REAL CHANGE.

Sam has done a great job protecting trees and the bottom of the ocean. He is well regarded and liked by sand dunes and albatross' who have no other champion. He campaigns steadily against the dire consequences of global warming and plastic bags. Sam has been working hard for years and years to effect the policies you have elected him to do. He is returned to Congress every two years by landslide majorities while facing no opposition. I'm not sure why people are upset just because they are losing their homes, income and hope. He has never campaigned for re-election on these issues. Give him a break! He's already working hard on the important issues and he's just one man.

"I am here today to be a power against violence," said COPA member Sally Torres, who told the audience of the time she was in a Salinas store as it was being robbed by a gunman. "I'm here today because the violence in Salinas has robbed me of my freedom to live in safety in my hometown," she said. Dear Sally, If you are concerned with the safety of your community then why are you backing COPA??? They are the ones that helped force those crime infested low income housing projects in our neighborhoods! DUH!!!

The last thing we need is more HUD financing!I'm sorry you are losing your piece of the "American Dream" but really you could never afford it from the get go. I passed up on this sucker scam because I knew like any other scam it was too good to be true. Fanny Mae/Freddie Mac are partyly responsible for getting the economy in a mess. Here is the bottom line on affordable housing, if you can't afford to buy, DON'T BUY! The only thing the feds will do is another little bandaid to ensure they get re-elected. I, for one, am over band-aid fixes & bail-outs. Still renting my home,'cause even though I could have got a loan, it all sounded too good. Do the math, what do you earn, what are all the other expenses, what would you do if you lost your job. If Farr or any other politico want my vote, I want to see JOBS, that is the only thing that will save our economy. Real jobs that a person can earn a living for their family. Bring businesses back to the states. Until then I'm voting with my $$$$ since that is the only way to be heard in this corruption. You may have heard in other news, "economists" claiming that the recession is going to be over soon.....I doubt it, it took at least 8 years to boom, it will be at least 8 years to bust. I'm looking forward to watching the house prices get even cheaper! All the equity wealth is going to escape like the hot air from a balloon.

I'm looking forward to watching the house prices get even cheaper! All the equity wealth is going to escape like the hot air from a balloon. Ditto! It really bugs me (read that with much harsher language) that I keep hearing these sob stories from people who are losing their house. Who is the idiot who signed up for something they couldn't afford? Did you really think you could afford a huge balloon payment in five years? Did you really think you could continue owning a house without having to pay anything on the principal of the loan (for those who were dumb enough to get interest-only loans)? It also really bugs me that I keep hearing about the "poor" people who might have to sell of some of their rentals to make ends meet. Or have to sell their timeshare/vacation property to pay the bills. Boo-frickin'-hoo. I would love to buy a house right now, but the banks and real estate companies are playing games. Tons of properties I can afford at the listed price, but that price is only to get people to throw their money at the house. Too often I've bid on a house that is $200-250K only to have it go for $300-350K. If that is how much it is worth, then put it on the market for that. There are also several stories of schemes between banks or real estate companies, and their friends, families, co-workers who are given first dibs on the house. Stories of houses being put on the market, bid on, then no answer for months at a time. Come to find out, the house is sold well below what was even asked for, let alone the highest bid. Hmm, who might be buying those? This isn't a buyer's market, it is an investor's market. This fraud is only further hurting the economy, not helping.

Did anyone ask Farr when he could ensure ICE could come into Watsonville to round up and deport the tens of thousands of illegal immigrants who would then also take their little gang banging larvae with them back to Mexico? More HUD low income government asssistance in the form of Section 8 housing, and sub-prime loans to unqualified folks all paid for by the taxpayers? Did Farr also promise more taxpayer funded free services to the myriad of special interest Hispanic illegal immigrant rights groups? Did he promise he would ensure amnesty is granted to the tens of thousandds of illegal immigrants and then did he remind them it was he and the Democrats who are giving them all these free services and to make sure they take that into consideration when they are granted amnesty and citizenship when they go to the polls? Which version does Farr encourage? Hum! This is a really tough one... NOT!

It's not just the people who got into loans they couldn't really afford. There are people who had loans they could afford based on employment they had and now that's gone. Doesn't matter if you rent or own. If you are unemployed for a time you'll eventually be in trouble. Considering the number of jobs lost over the last year or so, and still being lost, the bigger problem is putting people to work so they can make a living. A jobless recovery is a sham.

But Sam is also working for the interests of big family-owned growers by voting against the inheritance tax -- not to modify it, which I could take, but to eliminate it entirely. So all the giga-rich who made mega-fortunes gaming the system in part through buying politicians -- which is most of them -- can keep every dime. And keep using it to buy more politicians. The inheritance tax has been backed by such wild-eyed America-hating radicals as Teddy Roosevelt, who saw accumulations of huge wealth destroying democracy. As then, so now. Sam is a Feinstein democrat: individual liberties/gay rights, yes; pretty environment, yes; big business, yes; social reform of corrupt instititutions and protection for the middle class, much less the weak -- I'll get back to ya.

Asked by COPA leaders how residents could better handle the wave of foreclosures, Farr said the region needs more HUD-certified counselors to work with homeowners to refinance or modify their loans. More HUD-certified counselors in the region would require additional federal funding, something Farr said he'd try to secure. SHOCKED TO READ SAM FARR SUGGEST SOMETHING THAT REQUIRES MORE FED FUNDING. SAM THE SHAM, GET ALL THE COUNSELORS YOU WISH; WHAT SOLVES THE PROBLEM IS JOBS. FIRST, GET RID OF CARBON REDUCTION UNTIL IT'S ADOPTED BY THE OTHER 49 STATES TOO! MAKE ROOM FOR BIZ, ELIMINATE DEMOCRATS AND THEIR LEGION OF BUREAUCRATS.

Is your Monterey or Santa Cruz area church given large sums of money to the political organization called COPA? COPA is a member of Industrial Areas Foundation (IAF) which was founded by Saul Alinsky in the 1940’s. Alinsky authored books that are used as manuals by socialist and communist change agents. It is a serious concern that the money given to churches in the spirit of tithes is being used for political and radical ideological purposes without donors’ knowledge or authorization. In their own words: "Industrial Areas Foundation builds broad-based, non-partisan organizations of dues-paying member congregations, schools, unions, business associations, and non-profits committed to building power for social and economic change." Alinsky in his book writings puts it like this: "You do what you can with what you have and clothe it with moral garments. Make the enemy live up to his own book of rules. You can kill them with this. They can no more obey their own rules than the Christian church can live up to Christianity." Believing that the ends justify the means, Alinksy stated that: "In action, one does not always enjoy the luxury of a decision that is consistent both with one’s individual conscience and the good of mankind." Our churches and temples are being used for political purposes rather than for spiritual reasons. COPA affiliated churches use congregational capital to influence local politicians and intensely advocate for so-called “affordable housing” developments built by well paid so-called,“non-profit” developers. The reality is that parishioner money is funding a massive subsidy for building projects benefiting individuals who are very ineffective at cost management. This should give pause to anyone thinking that COPA and IAF are organizations out to help the downtrodden. Where was the congregation when these political shenanigans were being discussed? Was it part of a sermon or simply handled as a financial transaction behind closed doors? It’s alarming that congregants missed the discussion about morphing their churches into instruments of politicians. This is antithetical to what most citizens believe in. Your church may be doing this too. Ask them. 1. Is my church a member of a network or organization that supports COPA or IAF? 2. If yes, why did our church leadership decide to join? 3. What was the financial and political commitment made to COPA or IAF? 4. Has the pastor, minister, rabbi or other spiritual leader been informed about the true nature of COPA or IAF? 5. Has the congregation been informed truthfully? Let your church know how you feel about affiliations with ACORN-like political groups such as IAF and COPA.

About half of "foreign" cars actually are made in U.S. factories, largely in the southeast. Many of the parts for those cars also are manufactured in America, meaning that tens of thousands of U.S. jobs are supported by foreign brands. http://www.sacbee.com/topstories/story/234178... FOREIGN CARS ARE BUILT LARGELY IN THE SOUTHEAST... YOU ARE AWARE TOYOTA TRANSFERRED PRODUCTION FROM FREMONT, CALIFORNIA TO TEXAS? OH WHAT A FEELING!
