Too bad they're not upgrading or trying to improve Santa's Lodge by Holiday World. The place is pretty much a pit. Maybe the HW folks will see the potential for a nice hotel close by their park and fill the gap.

What in the hell does that mean? You don't think they are spending THEIR money. They are creating jobs and you have a problem with that?

I think this is a great addition to French Lick. The area has been so downtrodden of late, and the recent influx of hotels, casino, and now the waterpark will really make this a place to enjoy.

Don't worry, jen in mooresville rarely makes sense...she's a whiner. It is silly for her to complain about somebody opening a business that people apparently want. Yeah, those are evil people (w/sarcasm).

It will be interesting to see how this operates in conjunction with the casino. Will this be a dumping ground for the kids while the parents go gamble or golfing?

You are allowed to speak your mind and other are allowed to criticize you. I think it is a fair question to ask you why you think 4 hotels is all someone should own.

Actually, I don't think the Beechwood is directly across from the Casino, I think it's more half way between West Baden and French Lick and it faces the West Baden Springs Hotel. Ed Ballard (last owner of WB that sold it to the Jesuits for a $1) built the mansion to face West Baden so he could see it. One time we stopped by the "mansion" before it was operating as a B&B and the Fuhs were hard at work restoring it. They stopped what they were doing and gave us a tour, even showed us the little room upstairs where Ballard's sickly or crippled son spent most of his days. The Fuhs seemed very passionate about the mansion and preserving it the right way and seemed like real decent folks. The Beechwood is beautiful by the way. We've never stayed, but ate there a few times since.

Anyway people, be nice to each other. Life is hard enough as it is.

I would rather see an individual create wealth and create jobs with that wealth than let it sit in the bank. It also does better that giving it to charity (the old give a man a fish/teach him to fish adage). This too is what makes America great.

If only there were a way to get there.

Mitch won't build I-69, and if he does, he insists it be a toll road, because Mitch never met a tax he didn't like.

Sorry, French Lick. It's just too hard to get to you.

More fools commenting about someone or something they know nothing about. Maybe that is why Denbo got Fuhs kicked off the commission, he was doing too much good in the county and Denbo not getting the credit!

I am sure they are grateful for your concern. I say more power to them and build as much as they can.

i understand what your saying. your saying it is going to line more money in their pockets when they dont need it. but you also have to think about all the jobs that it will be opening up to an area that is in desperate need of them. i know many families that were on the verge of being homeless until all these new jobs came to the area. but even with the resort, we still need more jobs in this area.
