I was injured just days before this tragic event at the same park!!! I was getting onto a ride and the operator started the ride before I was even completely in my seat! The safety bar slammed down on my neck and I blacked out. When I came to the ride was going and I had to hold on to the seat and the bar (which was on my neck) to keep from falling out. The operator didnt even notice! When the ride ended the ride operator said to me "you can wait here until I finish going through the line of people waiting to ride and then I can talk to you." !!! I couldn't even stand - my sister had to help me . The said I would have to walk to the front of the park to complain. I was dizzy and had trouble walking and was in great pain. When I finally made it to the front of the park to get help and complain the emt's came and rushed me off to their medical building where they said I had a concussion and needed to get x-rays. After many hours there I was brought home by my family and went to see a doctor. I now have a permanent bend in my spine where I was hit in the neck and have medical issues with that area. The park admitted fault but then stopped returning my phone calls and still has yet to discuss reimbursement for any medical treatment. It has been just shy of a year since then! My advice - stay away from that park, they are irresponsible and the rides are dangerous. Not to mention the park and the way they run it is dirty.
hey, i'm a ride operator at great America and i don't believe your story, its way too far fetched and i think your an idiot
