Full story: Chico Enterprise-Record

If today's storm packs its predicted wallop, downed trees, fallen power lines and flooded areas could present hazards throughout Butte County.

"Crossing the tape is not a violation of law, but Morris said if a person ignores a warning from a firefighter posted at the hazard, they could be charged with resisting a public officer."

Anyone else think this policy is retarded? Crossing the tape SHOULD be a violation of law.

Is it just me, or is society becoming more and more pussified every day.

I know most people are smart enough to keep themselves out of danger. Give this sh1t a break.

My grandpa had a word for this type of weather... winter.

No Doubt. I always say, if we keep making all these rules to save the fools, we'll be a country full of fools.

Amazingly beautiful storm ~ if you have chance go for a walk and enjoy the beauty. We live in one of the most glorious places on the planet. The fresh air will fill your lungs and be good for you. The rain is warm and the storm won't last long.

Well Said! It's nice to see a positive viewpoint on these boards once in a while. I'm sure you'll get some negatives from the lovers of fireplace smoke.
Enjoy your day!

I do to "BUT" (and although I hate to admit it I will). I am resentful of having to pay taxes for jerks to literally put up red [and white striped] tape for me to have to walk around or through. Just in the name of the public safety, these people keep think they need to protect us from ourselves. Then on top of that insult they threaten to fine me should I defy them, more than likely they are hoping to imprison those of us who do, very soon. There is money to be made there also.

I feel the same way stephens. Unfortunately, there are imbeciles that, when the waters or winds create dangerous situations, must for some unknown reason, put themselves smack-dab in the middle of it, & then it's our taxpayer dollars at work to get them out of it. I know, I know, I'd rather see those people swept away by the current, but the existing laws don't support evolution in that manner. So I suppose that putting up red & white-striped tape is cheaper than saving certain fools from themselves with emergency personnel & equipment.

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Sagittarius

People around you may be insistent in their demands and they seem unreasonable, which in turn will lead to mental tension for you. There is the danger that this will dull your resolve, but the real path still lies ahead, beyond these temporary hurdles. Don't take this as a setback: there's no need to change your course of action.
