When it is pointed out that mass murderers have been bullied, it is not intended as an excuse for their atrocity. It merely means that sometimes a person comes unhinged, and maybe the bullying set him off.
So the lesson is not that bullying justifies murdering people, but that maybe other people should step in when they recognize bullying behavior.
Well, give that man a gold star! You actually said something sensible without even a trace of sarcasm. You are right, bullying is not acceptable behavior and all of us should have a keen eye out to intervene when we see it.
I'll leave it at that-- no caveats, no wisecracks, just two guys who normally have very different points of view finding common ground. Beautiful. There may be hope for us yet.

Thousands of people are bullied every day. That does not justify or excuse murder. The "I was bullied" excuse is just a lame attempt to avoid responsibility for ones own actions. People like you who always want to play the victim for attention and sympathy are an enormous part of the problem in this country.
What about you? You bully people on this forum on a daily basis. You've treated anyone and everyone on this forum who disagrees with you with disdain and hurled lies, insults and accusations at them. Then anytime anyone has had enough of your bullying and responds back, you go into full "Poor Steve" mode and want to play the victim. Where is YOUR tolerance? Where is YOUR respect for the beliefs of others? Why don't YOU take responsibility for your "hate speech" directed at Christians, conservatives and straight people?
I'll tell you something true, I think a kid would be better off in the custody of J.R. Williams for six months than by being left in a room alone with you for five minutes.(And no, not because you are gay-- because of your wacky political ideas.)
Now it is your turn to whine about how victimized you are by this community you hate so much but continue to suck a pretty decent living off of. Wait... Let me tune up my violin. OK-- go!
What a "performance" ! It was so very "Mocking and Misleading" ! Carry on !

Don't Have the phone app and should you ever desire to tell even a half truth you know I was joking about the phone app. Also saw where stated you were thinking of calling in about a prayer comment, you can call anytime! Of course you won't do it but it good to see at least say you thought about it! You have through your thousands of post been invited hundreds of time to call and never do. You have also even offered a job to book the guest and you never even returned the call on that offer. You have also been invited with all of your contacts to arrange the guest you would like us to talk to and get the contact info and we would try to to do that, and again nothing.
As far kids being bullied, which is not what the conversation was about, should you ever care about the truth, I said kids should report that to the right people. School authorities or if its not at school law enforcement.
Also, your more than welcome come go through the training and be a volunteer in the juvenile probation department we do alot of great things with troubled kids in Brown County and your experience in dealing with children could be helpful
Not buying any of it James ! I've heard your Bullying ways via Brownwood's KXYL 96.9FM for way too long to buy this post. I don't even know if your are the James Ray Williams from KXYL 96.9FM who also works for Brown County ! If you are, I'm not buying but I understand you and your Fundamentalist Religion more than you know ! Love ya like a Birther, James Ray ! Carry on.

Hez while I dont think I know you, on the old COB site we have "talked". I do appreciate your views and thoughts on issues. I would even enjoy meeting you I'm sure.
I have a very hard time going down the bullying road at all with a 30 year old man. I think there are dozens that should have to answer thousands of questions about this murders behavior and everything leading up to last thursday. And keying a car is not ok, or removing his bumper sticker but alot of folks it seems knew he was losing it.
Again would enjoy meeting you and take care.
It would be interesting to know who you were on the old COB. Any time a real name appears on this forum, I naturally figure it's one of the boys with 1000 names making mischief and attempting to scandalize a real person.

I really don't mind insulting people or being insulted, but I actually prefer talking to someone like bubba who holds fairly opposite views, yet maintains a sense of humor and a sense of perspective about it all. Plus, he doesn't keep changing his name and making it hard to remember who I'm talking to.

I know a guy who used to work with you, J.R., and he has only good things to say about you. Of course, he's a Republican so he's probably lying.

GOD Talking JR Williams of Brownwood's CONservative KXYL fame approves of torture. He's said it on the air and I believe him ! His brand of Christian Faith apparently condones these actions ! I'd wager this Faith is the majority in BuSh's Brownwood !

Evangelicals Support Torture

In August 2008, I wrote a column for the Lexington Herald-Leader in which I asked why evangelical Christians, of all people, had remained silent as it became clear that during George W. Bush’s administration the U.S. government, for the first time in American history, had instituted an official program of torture against captured enemies.

Now I’m afraid I know the reason for that silence.

Last week, Leonard Pitts Jr. of the Miami Herald wrote an opinion piece citing a report from the Pew Research Center’s Forum on Religion & Public Life on Americans’ attitudes on the torture of suspected terrorists:

“Pew found that 49 percent of the nation believes torture is at least sometimes justifiable,” Pitts wrote.“Slice that number by religious affiliation, though, and things get interesting. It turns out the religiously unaffiliated are the least likely (40 percent) to support torture, but that the more you attend church, the more likely you are to condone it. Among racial/religious groups, white evangelical Protestants were far and away the most likely (62 percent) to support inflicting pain as a tool of interrogation.”

To repeat: The people least likely to condone torture? Those with no religious affiliation. The folks most likely to approve it? White evangelical Protestants.

So, my question finally is answered.

I’d wondered why evangelical Protestants (“Protestant” comes from our ancestors’ tendency to protest any outrage) weren’t yelling their heads off when they discovered their country was violating a slew of international laws, all standards of common decency, 200 years of American history and every known Christian principle.

The reason: the majority of such Christians approve torture.

I usually try to be diplomatic when I write. But there’s no diplomatic way to approach this subject. This is insane. It’s shameful.

JR, you pretty much summed up Steve in a nutshell. I've never seen a person that could make thousands of posts running down practically every human or group that lives (except the homosexual community) and not have one ounce of courage to face people in person. He's spent years at his craft. He used to make anonymous calls to HPU and hang up, he's lied about giving a donation to the veterans van fund and his "blog" has years and years of libelous comments that would be a field day for even a rookie attorney and the list goes on. His true cowardly character shines through every day over and over. He's a despicable human being and any decent citizen of the Brownwood community should shun garbage like him and never spend a cent in his roach infested deli where he sure doesn't mind taking the money from the people he has so much disdain for.

bubba, hez isn't the genius you take him for. He and gigglebutt have gotten it wrong 100% of the time so far. They think that anyone who can type two lines without misspelling a word just HAS to be the man of 1000 names or the prankster with no ISP. They never venture away from Brownwood topix and see that thousands of people have no ISP or one that looks like mine. They never heard of satellite internet.

It's not the ISP that is the problem. It's just that it's hard to keep up with who you're talking to when you boys change your name constantly.

I don't know why that's so hard to understand. You can be anonymous. Just be the same anonymous person every time.

By the way, if bubba is wrong 100% of the time, don't you think that's a kind of genius in itself?

Classic Steve! He whines that nobody ever does... whatever his whining point du jour is, but then when somebody calls his bluff and offers whatever it was he asked for, Steve makes a huge fuss about rejecting it. That in itself ought to be proof of Steve's insincerity. He has no interest in making the world a better place or finding common ground to try to work out his differences with the loyal opposition. All he wants is to be in the spotlight for his big one man martyr show. That's why he hates KXYL so much. Whenever he hears Mike Cope on the radio his Envy Bone and his Attention Whore Bone start vibrating and rubbing together and before you know it he's on this forum chirping like a cricket. Did you know that if you count the times Steve writes "mocking and misleading" then divide that by 7 you call tell the temperature outside.

I use the Name field more as a "heading" or title for my posts. The name simply reflects an ironic or humorous take on the topic. I've made no attempt whatsoever to disguise my writing style or claim to be someone I'm not. You claim to have great skill at sussing out who an author is by their spelling, punctuation and word choice. Now you want to whine that you can't tell who is whom? Please! Hez, don't play stupid. That is beneath you.

Even right now, there are several of you with a similar point of view making similar comments, although each has a different quality and tone.

It's easy to keep you separate for now. But over time, you all blend into one another. I don't really think that's your purpose, but it's the effect.

The guy with the Rockwood ISP at least uses the word Observation in many of his names, as an ironic device I assume. So I can recognize and remember him as the one with a real talent for clever phrases and blasphemous innuendo.

And the guy with the satellite internet shows up periodically, but he reminds me of several others.

And, of course, I always think the no ISP guy is John Ivy, but I don't like to mention it for fear that he will post my name and address and a map to my compound. Plus, he has done more for my freedom than Multiple Observations has ever done with all his blood and gore.

Anyway, I don't want to whine too long. I'm just saying that it's a matter of courtesy and consideration to use a consistent name that helps establish who's posting what.

That's exactly what I use the name field for, but hez and gigglbutt are obsessed with ISPs and the name field. It's more important to them than anything else. It should be what the person says, not what their name is, but it just doesn't work that way with them. gigglebutt decided long ago that she was an expert in identifying posters but gets it wrong every time. She can't accept that she's outnumbered by common sense. She's torn between being required to agree with Steve and hez and making her mind up for herself but always chooses the first option. She even started throwing in the shit word a lot for more dramatic effect, but it doesn't work either.

What a "Mocking and Misleading" performance. Sounds like some the "Mocking and Misleading" coming out of some of the locally produced/transmitted "Power of Information" radio shows from Tackett's Wendlee Broadcasting ! Loving that Sirius/XM this morning where all sides of the political spectrum are represented behind the microphones ! Now that's what I call "Setting the record straight" !

Look, why don't you think up a funny name for yourself, and use it in the name field every time you post. Then you could make a little title-heading for your post called "God Hates Fudgepackers."

Every time you post after that, we could remember that you're the one with the clever titles. If at some later date you should reveal that you're an HPU graduate, that would further inform the meaning of your future posts.

I understand your argument that only the content of your post should matter. But if we could remember what you have written in the past, the subtle nuances of meaning would become clearer.

What advantage is there in adding another layer of anonymity to your posts? Just give yourself an anonymous identity. It won't be embarrassed to write things like God Hates Fudgepackers.

Have you really seen a lemming?

You know, the idea that lemmings follow each other off a cliff in mass suicide is a myth.

However, I don't believe you've ever seen a lemming, even on television. Your history observations are equally suspect.

Hez, Did you hear the BuSh/Palin supporting OBAMA hating Talking Heads of KXYL 96.9FM this AM as they discussed the Fort Hood Shootings and Obama ? James Ray did bring up the report of other shooters with Masters. Do you think they will bring on Joe Quinn for a little round table interview with their local go-to military guy, James Masters ?
