This past Monday, the Westboro Baptist Church, famous for protesting the funerals of US soldiers killed in Iraq and for its "God Hates Fags" slogan, protested outside the White House.

The group was hoping for God to "SHORTLY destroy Antichrist!" I think they meant President Barack Obama.

I haven't read any news about the death of the anti-christ, so I guess it hasn't happened yet.

The lovely “God Hates Fags” website had this to say about the protest at the White House. I am including this fervent prayer because I know this kind of thing gets BillyBob sexually aroused.

“During his LYING address to Congress on 2/24/09 this raving filthy beast had the NERVE to end with these words "God bless you, and may God continue to bless america." Shocking that he was not immediately cast into hell, but God doeth all things well. This is the face of the antichrist who attempts to call upon the name of the True and Living God and is furtherance of his lies. God is NOT blessing this evil land.

Uh, HELLO?! Here is the face of how God is actually, and factually CURSING this rebellious nation: Revelation 6:3 ¶ And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see. 4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword. 5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. The inability of Republicans and right-wingers to appreciate the hilarious irony of this story is almost tragic.

Rush avoided the Vietnam War draft because of an anal cyst. I guess, technically, it was a pilonidal cyst. The Military Entrance Processing Command describes it as "a congenital incomplete closure of the neural groove at the base of the spinal cord in which excess tissue and hair may collect and cause discomfort and discharge."

The military doctors didn't actually examine him. He brought a note from his own doctor. The condition can be easily corrected with minor surgery, but you know Rush. He doesn't have a high tolerance for pain. Witness the painkiller habit that cost him his hearing.

Anyway, you'd think he would avoid making ass jokes. But I don't think his audience gets the funny part of the joke.

Hez, I only started hearing the Brownwood area CONservative Republicans speaking out against Fred Phelps and his church when they started protesting at soldiers funerals. Up until that time, they remained quiet as Fred and gang protested at other funerals. KXYL's James Ray Williams comes to mind ! Maybe he was too busy checking out Mens Figure Skating Magazines at Hasting's to voice his WBC protest !
