If we were a smart society we would legalize weed and this kind of thing wouldn't happen any more. I guess no one remembers prohibition. Too bad.

Foster was convicted today of killing Ricky Lorie, 26, on April 23, 2007.
Circuit Judge O.H. Eaton Jr. imposed the only sentence available for the killing, life.

"" Why is life imprisonment the only sentence for murder...""
I was under the opression that if you are proven to have murdered someone, then you get the Death Penalty...Now we have to pay for 3 hots & a cot for this useless POS for the rest of "OUR" lives...along with free medical treatment that we pay out the A $$ for...If real just were to be done, then a bullet between this imbecile's eyes would be justice...

The State attorney is the one to decide whether or not to pursue the death penalty. If they do not seek it, then it cannot be imposed.

I hope this worthless pos enjoys his life behind bars for the of his natural life. Ricky did not get a chance at life because of this individual and now, he will not have one either! Thank GOD the justice system worked, one down, one to go!

Wow. I would like to say that, I am surprised or even shocked, at the poor, poor, penmanship and apparent struggle to put together, what should have been, a simply written article. However, with the obvious lack of quality or even decent writers out there, and especially for the Sentinel in regards to covering this story specifically, I must say that I am not surprised in the least.

Ricky was killed by a single 9mm round, pointblank to the heart and died instantly. This incredibly ridiculously written article makes it seem as if he jumped or was thrown from the vehicle, hit his head, and died..."oh, there was some gunfire at some point too."

Lastly, I will let this quote speak for itself; "The abduction was a parking lot of the Sanford Wing House, a short distance from the highway."..."the abduction was a parking lot"?

Come on editors, do your job or can some of your writers.

Well, JS - welcome to the Sentinel. You might want to get used to terrible reporting or you will be very unhappy here. The editors are dumber than the illiterate (did I spell that right?)- writers.

Joshua, the story was correct. Ricky died from blunt force trauma, but he was also shot. It doesn't even matter how he died. If someone dies as the result of kidnapping, the killers can be charged with First Degree Felony Murder. Now, may Ricky rest in peace as a second guilty verdict was rendered today. God bless his family.

Justice from Kissimmee is correct.
The gun shot did not kill Ricky, and the law did not allow for a death penalty sentence because the death occured during a felony kidnapping.

Daily Horoscope for January 8

Scorpio

Self-worship is easy and obvious, today. The real prize is when you turn from the mirror to see that others think just as highly of you. Take in all this love and amazement, and store some away for lean times in the future. Someone may give you an unexpected compliment later in the day, but don't let them know that it caught you off guard. After all, you still have your reputation as an egomaniac to uphold!
