if the jury believes that this idiot did not do it, they deserve to have him come over for batting practice.

Welll it will depend on what the other side shows as evidence in the courtroom. I am amazed at how this girl got this young man to do this for her. I am also amazed at the rage and violence in someone so young. Obviously she had some very severe emotional and/or mental issues. I wonder if the father really did molest her and that is what brought this to a head? Taking the law into her own hands was definitely not the way to go. Now there are 2 young lives about to spend the rest of their life in a prison cell and a man who was murdered senselessly.

I knew both of these people, I went to high school with them. Never would I have thought either one of them was capable of doing these things. I heard Courtney had plotted, but then called the whole thing off. She acted like she did not know Mike was going to do it. Then I read that she is planning to tell everyone that she did it. She does not love him, or she didn't about a month before it happened (she was seeing other people). Courtney was a nice girl all through high school. The summer before this all happened, Mike took her on a car theft spree. From then on it was down hill. I knew of Mike in high school, and he always seemed like the class clown, always had everyone laughing about something. It is just sad. I was there for her father's funeral too. This entire thing is just heart-breaking. I don't think Mike or Courtney should get the death penalty. Nobody will know what happened that night except the two of them. For that I think they should both spend the rest of their lives in prison.

anyone can see from the court tv recordings and pictures that courtney is a heartless soul (her careless demeanor). for her to fabricate these unwarranted claims about abuse is a last attempt to save her sorry ass. the both of them need to grow up and realize that in a court of law, you cannot just change your story on a whim! what pathetic fools. and "cindy", how can both of them be your cousins? they weren't related. werid. anyway, everyone who has half of a brain can see how stupid courtney is to "admit" that michael had nothing to do with it AFTER she was sentenced to life in prison. give me a break. they both deserve the death penalty because they took the life of an AMAZING human being, a man who never deserved any of this awful brutality. no matter how "normal and nice" courtney appeared, she was a messed up girl. and MICHAEL, not steve, was this bad influence in her life. the fact that a sixteen year old girl was plotting the murder of her father, and her boyfriend was willing to "support" her should say enough about their characters and where they should spend the rest of their lives, and if they even deserve the rest of their lives.

I lived in the same neighborhood in Waterford as Courtney, and one of my best friends dated Mike before he was with Courtney. There is no way that either of them acted alone, and there is no way that Mike had nothing to do with it. If you're from here, then you should remember the story channel 9 did right after they were arrested about Mike's diary in jail. He wrote in great detail about how he was going to kill one of his best friends and take over his identity in order to stay out of trouble for Mr. Schulhoff's murder. Why isn't anyone mentioning this?

None of you really know anything and are Monday morning quarterbacks! If you only new the potentials Courtney had going for her. She was always an introvert. She was angry at her mother for the divorce and refused the structure her mother had requested. She knew her father would not give a shit about her and that is exactly what happened. She had to beg for tampons, he ignored her needs. She had to call her mom for daily survival needs. her dad didn't have a clue she quit school. Mike Morin saw Courtney was ripe for pickin's and Destroyed her life to the fullest. Mikes dad threw him out of his house before Mike ever met Courtney. Courtney had an older man at age 15.. She was sucked in. So much not exposed but no one deserved death or the horrible life they are stuck with now.

To respond to the rest of your post, please go up to my original post and read it. Then you will see that I basically said what you said without knowing anything. There had to be more than we know going on for a kid to do something so horrific to another human being. Sad, very sad. The blame lies with all of them.

Hi I have read about this case it has left me very disturbed and very curious about why certain grounds for appeal that spring to mind for Courtney were not considered (I am an attorney). Do you happen to know if she had good representation? Do you feel that life without parole is not undue punishment in this case? I would be very interested in any insights or contact info you may have for her defense team or people interested in her welfare. Thank you.

everyone who has the comments and feelings of that they are both equally to blame is correct. I knew both of them quite well and it was my car they had stolen and drove to maryland unlike what they wrote on court tv articles.. he had taken his fathers car after he stole mine and drove it up north... along with credit cards and checks.... I also know or did know steve her father he never laid a single finger on that girl! I was renting a room from him after his divorce while I was going through mine so I saw a lot of the things that led up to and what happened before...long long story of course but you could sort of say I was the fly on the wall during a lot of what led up to it all....

Listen, Courtney grew up a shy and quiet girl in public but a fun and outgoing girl among those whome she knew well. At the time of her parents divorce she didn't have a stable person in her life to lean on. She lost any sense of direction and purpose. She needed someone to be there for her. The closest stable family was in Maryland, and her parents kept everything to themselves. No other family members REALLY knew the details as to how things were in FL. Steve was a good, caring father that lacked the ability to discipline. Her mother perhaps had too much discipline (to a teenager at least). Courtney took advantage of the her father's trust in her and started sneaking out looking for solace in friends wherever they might have been. That's when she found Mike. He was the WORST person possible that she could've found. He was 18 and she was 14. He already had a terrible track record, was living with roommate who also had dropped out of school and was a freakin loser! She enjoyed the attention that this older guy gave her and was easily consumed with him like most teenage girls easily are. He led her down the worst path possible and influenced her. If she had found a better person we wouldn't be having this discussion. Unfortunately she didn't and she is where she is because of it. She is by no means excuseable for what happened. She knew right from wrong. Her immaturity shows in her lack of remorse. I feel Mike is responsible for the direction she went. They both deserve the consequences. Courtney was a soft and tender hearted girl, whose heart was broken in a divorce and hardend by an older man. Let this be a lesson to monitor who your kids associate with and that if you're going to get a divorce, don't be selfish; Take care of your kids.

Hello None, I'm writing from Germany. I'm Someone who just accidentally came across that strange case, and felt very interested and very confused. As you wrote to have witnessed many things, of course I'm curious now... Could you just tell me a summary of the most important chapters of the long story you mentioned? Either here in forum or by e-mail, if you prefer? I would be very grateful for a reply. Thank's a lot in advance, Someone from Germany
