SC Named as State WIth Most Hate Groups

I saw on the news yesterday that SC was named as the state with the most hate groups -- to me that equals a whole lot of ignorance -- with so many churches in this state it makes me wonder what are they teaching or not teaching. Or is that other states keep theirs undercover and South Carolinans are just more visible and active -- I wish people could just let it go and try to live and be happy rather than expending energy on hating someone..

The SPLC fingered 45 hate groups in South Carolina. This figue ranked 4th, behind Califonia, Florida and Texas. My concern with this figure is that while SC has increased in hate groups from 2000 to 2008, most of these groups are just the League of the South. While pretty much a bunch of southern wackos, these guys don't even come close to real hatred exspoused by the KKK, neo nazi or black seperatist organizations. Shamefully, the SPLC's infatuation with the conferedate flag is causing us to not focus on the real hate groups that not only focus on dehumanizing people, but also are growing in great numbers in places outside the deep south. Just look at Ohio if you need any additional direction.

S.C has been good to blacks. The Capitol building is full of them. They have other good jobs also. The whites just do not care to mingle with blacks. That is their privelge! I am a hispanic and I understand that.

Not sure which groups are supposedly hate groups in SC. I work in a max (level 3) prison and the groups in SC are a bunch of kids compared to the Crips, bloods, mex mofia, Hells Angles, Pegans, Arian Nation, Muslim Nation ect are all much more violet that groups in SC.
This group th SPLC must be a bunch of idiots! Do they really know what hate groups and violent gangs are all about?
Back in the day the KKK was a powerful group now they are verry sparce and very reaely raise their ugly head up.
SC is now a very international state. I bet if BMW Manufacturing Co, Michelin Tire Corp. Baush, Plactic Omni, Honda, and the hundreds of other international companies certainly would not have moved here!
Cettainly we have our hate groups like every other state has; however, I would bet that this SPLC group is just as radical as any other group in SC!

To me its is sad that people would even talk like this sounds like hate runs thru others veins as well . It should be " "we" are the world not hispanics, white or black asian etc its us as a whole. You people need to get your facts straight. The black culture teaches their children to hate the white's from the cradle. It is'nt the white people all time whining about their right's. We have right's to. Which we should'nt be made to support their babbies they choose to have & let these sorry daddies off with not paying childsupport.We don't have an association like NAACP to speak up for us. Wish I could whine & get the lawmaker's to fire somebody for doing their job. They never say anything about how their people are out here robbing & killing innocent people.I don't hate anyone, but the truth is going to stand, when this world is on fire. We don't owe them anything for their ancestor's being slave's. They need to talk to their own people for selling them.We did'nt have anything to do with that.It is ignorance that blames us. See what I mean about Hate. No where was color mentioned. You have taken the time to specify a race -- and then add God in it. Sorry but I (and I am sure others who made comments also) have a wonderful -- hate free -- respect all people life. Dont have a heaven or hell to put anyone in. In the end its ashes to ashes and dust to dust... with or without the hate in your heart. It's forum like this that bring awareness to what people feel in their hearts.

I have met the most warm and loving folks down here...I'm a Christian Conservative and typically hear how that somehow translates to hate...tired of it being ok to tramp on Christians ...
I have found so many wonderful people I will never return to the NY area again. Lovely folks... SC ROCKS

Most people not want to mingle with hispanics either..the men steal and the women are hoochies!!

Does anyone know why racism only involves Negros ? Why do we single out Negros ? Skin color , I doubt it . Just does not make sense . Many Indians are just as black as Negros but seem to fit right in . I do not know of anyone that would object living next door to an Indian . I think it is more culture than skin color . I was listening to Obama yesterday and he mentioned the fact that Kenya fifty years ago had a higher standard or living than South Korea but we it is not that way today . Is it culture or past colon-ism that is holding sub Saharan Africa and the Caribbean Islands back ?
