Yup - all the park's fault. Not that parents should keep an eye on their own kids around water anyway. Especially a 3-year old that probably couldn't swim. They probably left him alone in the bathtub all the time too. America - what a country!

$75K seems a bit cheap honestly.

Balls Deep... they are asking for $75k, hoping they will just settle outside of court. The parents realize it's mainly their fault, not the park's, so they don't want to be in front of a judge.

Cheap, yes, if the park is negligent, but again, why are the parents taking no responsibility?

I feel bad for the parents, because this is tragic, but I've taken my kids there numerous times and it's a wonderful place. There is no way possible that the lifeguards can watch every kid all the time. Parents have to have some accountability when a kid is that young. I never took my eyes off of my kids when I took them there at that age. Again, it's very tragic. Kalahari will probably just pay the 75k and move on. It'll cost more than that to fight it.

It would be a bit cheap if the park were at fault, due to negligence on the park's part. But I'm sorry a three year old, Come on where were the parents? Im not sure how long it takes to drown, but where were they durning this time? Parents....watch your children!! Don't try and lay blame for YOUR negligence. I would not even let my 3 year old near water, not alone IN water without me right there with them, ever heard of COMMON SENSE????

Im sorry for the parents loss, but it is NOT the water parks job to babysit their 3 year old. It is theirs! I hope they water park lets it go to court. They should not have to pay for the parents reckless behavior!

While I feel bad for the parents,it is NOT the water parks job to babysit!! Im sure they are hurting but its not right to put the blame on the park when THE PARENTS should've been there watching their child..trying to make yourself look better/feel better because of their own negligence is horrible.

Where were the parents? Could the boy swim? My children CAN swim and I still never let them out of my sight in a pool or water park (they are 5 and 7).

Unless they were somehow restrained from helping their child, the park is not responsible. In fact they have a disclaimer on their tickets as well as on signs all over the park...

Better than buying a winning lottery ticket...
Have your kid die at a waterpark...
Almost as good as resisting arrest and a policeman knocking you on your butt...
Or getting the teacher to remove you from the classroom......

I'm sorry for their loss. But as a parent it is your responsibility to watch your kids. There is no way that I would let a child that age be much further than an arms length away from me in any body of water. Several years ago one of my young nephews slipped and fell into the backyard pool at a family party and believe me, one of the adults had scooped him out before he had even managed to bob back to the surface.

We see numerous accidents concerning children. Some accidents can not be prevented, however many can if parents would watch their children. I have been in grocery stores etc and the kids are standing up in the baskets. Parents do not stop the child and tell him to sit because it is dangerous. Children playing ball on the sidewalks near busy streets. There should be a way to stop IGNORANT people from having children.

Hey, they're your kids. Keep an eye on them. Don't sue a company because of your negligence...maybe in the lawsuit they can get additional money because the water was too cold or too hot, or maybe the color of the pool affected the child's ability to see clearly, or maybe , or maybe, or maybe...grrrr... STOP IT!!!
