Seems that there's more to this story than what is represented here.
If Smith wants to be heard then he needs to participate in a dialog with the City. Maybe Smith needs to pull his head out of the sand or and get an attorney. |

I watch most of the council meetings and have seen Mr. Smith appear in front of the council several times on this issue. Even my other gadfly friends find this confusing... the council itself has been split on every vote that has come before them on this issue... there do seem to be some questions on the timing of the use of the property, whether there was an intensification of the use, and exactly what the city ordinance requires (and complicating all of this is that the ordinance was changed sometimes in the midst of the project construction - but whether the project had been "approved" or now at the time of the ordinance change is also an issue). Mr. Smith has had attorneys representing him at meetings. FINALLY, the Herald, who is always preaching "transparency", should state that they have a financial relationship with Wave St Studios: all of the forums, interviews etc that appear on their website are filmed at Wave St Studios, for what I understand is a reduced rate. There are many other people that have disputes with the City, yet this one gets press coverage in my opinion because of the relationship the Herald has with Wave St. Studios. |

Mr. Smith and his business associates say they are facing bankruptcy over a matter of unpaid parking fees? Perhaps it's their pie-in-the-sky business model and the way that they weaseled out of paying those who have worked for them that is finally coming back to bite them. Karma is a b**ch.

I believe IF people have a business on a street like "WAVE STREET" They should get their own parking permit. Whats the use on parking out front of their business and keep having to feed the meter and worrying about it running out. Pay a 1 year fee for parking, and it's all good.

Like man, it aint the traffic tickets, they can record top acts, they going out of Business cauze they can't get compete selling jazz music in the biz. Man they behind they times.
I'm surprise they don;t know that LaVern Williams from the Monterey Bay News is a world class Guitarist in Rock-Blues-Jazz like man he's got a website not about music, but in monterey http://montereybaypacificcoastnetwork.blogspo... It seems a few people know about him in town, but he writes under a pen name. He's sells under a different name world wide. Now for my 2 cents I can't figure out why Wave Studios don't goez after this guy? Man he's freakin the bestest guitarist maybe living today !! Oh man rights here in monterey town and this guitar guy tours the country and this studio can't record him? I wonder why they can't make a buck? give me a break pleassssse someone knock on their heads and open the door, maybe they'd wake up |
