First off, it wasn't "hundreds", it was "thousands." I guess PP wasn't there to see. I was.

Thousands is more then 1,000 - there were thousands as in more then 1,000. I would estimate the crowds at 2,000 to 3,000 - at least.

This is the first time there have been Nation wide protests to lower taxes. However, for the past 9 or 10 years we have had a Tax Cut Rally in MN at the State Capitol. Most people never hear about it because newspapers like this one ignore the people that show up. There will be another Tax Cut Rally May 2nd. Every year the news media "misreports" how many people showed up if they even report at all. Here is what happened last year.

http://www.wilgeno.com/index.cfm/2008/4/13/20...

Also, the MN News Council found that WCCO "misrepresented" news in reporting the 2007 Tax Cut Rally. WCCO showed the people at the rally and claimed it was people showing up for an environmental rally. That is blatant lying.

If we're ever going to hold the politicians responsible for their actions we're going to have to do the same to the news media. So far the news media is nothing more than the PR department for the Democrat Party.

Hundreds? Naw there was only dozens of people there, and three porta-potties. Just look at the picures and new coverage. The pro-tax rally earlier in the day was way bigger.

the left is so lame. so incredibly lame. their take on this is the tea parties were "underwritten by corporate lobbyists." this is pathetic. you see it just couldn't be a grass-roots spontaneous movement of protest. oh no. couldn't possibly be real. the evil corporations must be behind it. can you believe this crap? and these people don't think anyone notices how childish they are.

Funny this has been the internet news for weeks about this rally taking place across the country. So I watched our fine local news. You had to watch for 10 minutes before seeing this story. They also had to temper it with coverage of the pro tax folks. All 12 of them on the capital steps. Then also have a government official tell us how important taxes are.

The press is missing the point and down playing this.

The Attendee were dupes of Fox News and ditoheads of Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity. No one is Increasing taxes on people who make under $200000. per year. Taxes will be increaseed on people who make over $250000. per year. That is a good thing because now the Bush tax cuts are being invested in low wage countries or any investment in an American company is used to build factories in low wage countries, Putting Americans out of work. If we tax the wealthy at least the money will stay in the United States.

The Tea Party was not a very news worhty event because everyone knows that the Attendee's were Dupes of Rush Limbaugh Sean Hannity and Fox News. No one is raising taxes on those who make under $200000. per year. The Bush Tax cuts for those making over$250000. will be eliminated because that money is currently being invested in Low wage countries. We live in a world economy and we have been building factories in China India and mexico with money provided by the Bush tax cuts to the wealthy. I think it is about time that the wealthy did something to help the Americans that they put out of work. At least if we eliminate the Tax cuts the Money will stay in America

It was movement by low intelligence dupes of Rush Limbaugh Sean Hannity and Fox news. Anyone who believes that taxes are going up on those who make below $200000. per year have not been listening to anyone else. the only taxes that are going up are on those making over $250000. per year.
The reason for this is that currently the Bush tax cuts on the wealthy are being invested in low wage countries like China India or Mexico these investment are putting Americans out of work. At least if we tax the wealthy the money will be spent in the United States.

You should really pay attention to what is happening before you post stupid comments like the one above. Do you live in Minnesota? what about our sales tax increase for the arts, voted in in November? that affects EVERYONE. Do you smoke? Taxes just went up on tobacco products. Do yo own property? Property taxes also just went up. Pay attention to what's happening pal, and MAYBE you will start to understand what the rest of us already know. Taxes are too high, and Washington just continues to spend like drunken sailors, with no end in sight!!

Hey Mr Conservative you just got a tax cut. This rally was group of dupes of Fox news and ditoheads of Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity. This rally was put on by lobbyists of major corporations led by Fox news Rush and Sean. if you have been listening to anyone beside Rush and Sean you would know that you just got a tax cut and that taxes will not be raised on anyone making under$200000. per year. The Bush tax cuts on those making over $250000. per year will be eliminated because currently that money is being invested in low wage countries putting Americans out of work. The old belief that tax cuts will trickle down doesn't work today because we live in a world economy and tax cuts to the wealthy are used to trickle down to low wage places putting Americans out of work. Smarten Up and listen to someone beside Rush and Sean

I live in Arizona where taxes are low and we have the worst education system in the country.where we have more people on welfare than other states where we have the largest budget deficit, where there is no hope for high tech industries like you have in Minnesota because you pay High property taxes to provide a great education system. If you think taxes are too high in Minnesota move to Arizona a third world state if there ever was one. I hope you can find a job making over minimum wage in Arizona!!!!!!

Stay in America? Have you NOT seen or heard your man the Big O? He does NOT want any of those low level jobs that went overseas! HE wants only living wage jobs from ah, let's see, ah, green jobs and govt. The money for the green jobs will come from taxes on all of us and the technology HE speaks of? Well that is from overseas, not here. Get it? NOT HERE. So wake up.
