how is it that all these ppl on the other pd discussions cant do anything but talk crap? not all ppl are the same, as not all the officers should be blamed for the mistakes of others. yes, the ones that did wrong need punished for it, as many officers agree. but dont sit there with your head in your butt and talk crap about the rest when you dont know the stuff they deal with every day, just trying to do their jobs and putting theirselves out their for us. there are several of them that are honest hardworking men and women.

I feel your absolutely correct there. I'm sure there are a LOT of good officers out there, and there are some that go way beyond their call of duty to help others. Are you referring to the most recent events with Officer Ariaz? That was a sad thing indeed. That particular case really made it look bad for the police dept and that is sad. We bring our children up to recognize police officers as our friends, mentors and protectors among many other things. What he did should not have any reflection on any of the other good officers, but unfortunately in a lot of parents and childrens minds it makes dealing with police a very scary thing to a lot of ppl. My grandfather was a police officer for 40 years. I have the utmost respect for law enforcement. He would be totally ashamed of the way some of his fellow officers behave this day and age if he were alive today. I'm sure it goes that way in every professional job. Doctors for instance, like the deal with Dr. Pope, which was very sad also. We look up to those people and when they molest our children it's hard for a parent to trust any of them but that doee not mean all the rest should be grouped as child molestors just because one of them went sour.
just wondering

There used to be a lot of rumors about the unprofessional behavior of bitch cop Tracy, who had the boob job. Knowing the ethics of a lot of the area cops, I wouldn't be surprised at anything.

There was actually no other "pd discussions" to start with. You started this thread yourself. If there were others, why didn't you chime in on those? You're either a cop yourself or you're sleeping with one.

Married to whom? You didn't finish the sentence. Or should we assume you're another illiterate moron who can't type one sentence and get it right?

I've never posted on here but have been an avid reader for a year and just wanted to make a couple remarks about our fearless boys in blue. I moved here thinking it would be a nice place to retire after living and working in Dallas all my life. After 6 years here, and reading the things in the paper and hearing the word on the street about our PD there an absulute joke. I have more faith in the dog catcher than i do that departmennt. Our tax dollars are paying a bunch of sex crazed perverts to ride around and look for 3 way immoral sex with each other. Then the dirty swine get on the the local radio and ask us for a pay raise. Why dosent this seem to bother anyone but me? God forbid you call one of them for help, they act like its a waiste of there time, and by the way it sounds it may be. There getting pulled away from there sex with each other. Lets start at the top and work our way down. FIRE ALL OF THEM. They cant be trusted.

How stupid of you to post using my name. This is a troll post using my registered name, just so everyone knows. I always post using only my registered nickname which they they can only duplicate if they do not register. Just shows what chickenshits they are that they feel the need to use a name that's already been taken lol.

Police ready to 'take on' commenters, chief says
People who misrepresent themselves as officials in online comments could face civil, criminal penalties, Acevedo says.

By Tony Plohetski
AMERICAN-STATESMAN STAFF

Friday, September 18, 2009

Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo says he and some of his officers have been harassed, lied about and had their identities falsely used in online blogs and in reader comment sections on local media Internet sites.

They've had enough.

In a meeting this month with department brass, Acevedo and the group discussed how they think such posts erode public trust in the department and how they have been wrongly maligned.

They have since researched their legal options and decided that from now on, they might launch formal investigations into such posts, Acevedo said. He said investigators might seek search warrants or subpoenas from judges to learn the identities of the authors — he thinks some could be department employees — and possibly sue them for libel or file charges if investigators think a crime was committed.

"A lot of my people feel it is time to take these people on," Acevedo said. "They understand the damage to the organization, and quite frankly, when people are willfully misleading and lying, they are pretty much cowards anyway because they are doing so under the cloak of anonymity."

The effort to crack down on potentially illegal statements or comments that are possibly libelous — those published with the goal of defaming a person — is the second time in recent months that the department has confronted new social media.

In March, the social networking site Twitter shut down a fake account that pretended to issue official Austin police bulletins after the department and the Texas attorney general's office complained.

University of Texas law professor David Anderson said the hosts of sites where potentially libelous comments are posted are granted immunity by federal laws. Those who post comments can still be sued, however.

State lawmakers this year passed a law that took effect Sept. 1 making it a third-degree felony to use another person's name to post messages on a social networking site without their permission and with the intent to harm, defraud, intimidate or threaten.

Here we go again folks, get ready for more filth from our Police department. Seems the night of Nov 5th was full of booze and sex for our Brownwoods finest. Lets see if Steve Nash breaks the story in the hard hitting bulletin. If he reports the correct story, its gonna make the people here want to live under martial law rather than have to trust these bunch of law breaking scum bags.

Daily Horoscope for December 28

Taurus

If you've been neglecting that special someone in your life over the past few days because you've been so busy with the festivities, try to make up for it today. Maybe you could have some time alone with them, or perhaps you simply need to remind them how much you love them. Don't be afraid to open up your heart to them, and to let them do the same to you.
