Sorry Richard Slawson, but the union workers you represent are mostly lazy, unmotivated and have a sense of entitlement. Having been in the construction business for 15 years I have seen many projects overrun and run behind schedule because of the essentially legalized extortion people like Mr. Slawson espouse.

Contractors (building and otherwise) keep getting away with murder. Make it a requirement that any job related to a government agency HAS TO BE TRANSPARENT.

This is interesting. I add 25-30% on LAUSD projects just because of LAUSD inspectors and my competition adds more.

Project Labor Agreements do not set rates or benefit amounts for workers, this is done by the state.
Mr. Slawson would have the watchful eyes of compliance organizations pointed at non union contractors. How many non union organizations put in these labor agreements with backroom payoffs denying union contractors the opportunity to work? Isn't compliance what you were selling Mr. Slawson? Didn't you say that PLAs keep all these poor workers from being ripped off? Is it OK that workers are being cheated as long as they're forced to pay union dues? Is it OK these workers are being taken advantage of as long as they are forced to make contributions into union pension plans? Is it OK that these violations are happening under your watch because "others" are doing worse? I thought we were supposed to get something more than your promise not to strike and delay the school construction our kids depend on? Looks like the extortion money doesn't help the middle class it only keeps the thugs away.

Damn the labor unions and the failure they cause in our government and economy!

Tell me you're a helpless, greedy labor union member ... I'll be happy to laugh in your face.

Geez, this article hit on November 5, 2010 and no sign of Gloria Alldred? What's up-is the election over or what.....just say'in....Labor laws broken? Under paid workers and perhaps undocumented? And non-union on top of it? I am really confused now!
