<quoted text>They always leave 1 person at the station. How about reversing the roles and sending that 1 person to do the shopping and keeping the firefighters at the station where they belong...or better yet, how about calling safeway.com and placing their order for delivery. With that amount of food, they qualify for free delivery.
I have been at the local market twice when I saw the firefighters sprint out of the store on an emergency call. On one occasion, my wife and I paid for their food as a gesture of our appreciation of their fine work, contacted LPFD dispatch to find out which station they were out of, and delivered their food to the station. These heroes work 48 hour shifts, and are often times sent out on horrendous calls in the middle of the night while you sleep in the comfort of your bed. When you get older and more frail, I will certainly be interested to hear your view of them after they have responded to assist you, maybe even saving your life. Too bad you are such a cynical curmudgeon. You need to start being nice to others.

You must spend alot of time in the market to witness that happen twice. I'm a regular shopper and have never seen that even once. Sounds like a bullsh*t story to me. Don't feel sorry for these "heros", they are very well compensated for their hardship of working long shifts.

I thought this thread was about LPD?

Why would you pay for the firefighter's food? You do realize we all already pay for their food, right? You're an IDIOT for doing that.

Or, more likely, this story is bullshit in the first degree and in actuality you are a firefighter trying to pump people up about overpaid public servants to get them to agree to raise taxes and increase spending, which is Governor Brown's agenda (to spend $6 BILLION more dollars this year than the last year and to raise taxes to pay for it all. Most of the spending will go not to services but to bloated pensions and pay.)

Nice try.

Cops in general need a reminder that they are public servants and should be focusing their energy on quality of life crimes not just trying to generate revenues with CS arrests and tickets for victimless crimes.

To LPD I would say, clean up the taggers, the vagrants, the litterbugs, and focus patrol activity on surveillance for crimes against persons and property. Stop poaching motorists on congested thoroughfares because its an easy bust and generates revenues...we dont give a shit if someone is going seven miles over the speed limit on a major arterial. It just doesn't affect our quality of life for you to do that. You want to make an impact on quality of life, get better crime heat maps and put some real burglary squads in place, establish a professional command for property crimes (meaning, actually take reports and build a real stolen property database and follow it up).

Gang Suppression Unit: Yes please. Bring that shit back. Suppress the shit out of these vato wetbacks. They're the ones doing most of the graffiti and property crime too!

LPD won't even send a cop to your house to take a report. You have to do it yourself on some online BS website. You want a detective to follow up on your burglary, forget about it. They just file it in the ole round file. But god forbid if you drive around town with an out of date child safety seat, they'll ticket the hell out of you. The motor cops are pretty rude too. I walked up to one to comment on their new BMW bikes and he wouldn't give me the time of day. Im from a bug city where the cops have to earn their pay, as far as I can tell, LPD had a lot of prima donnas on their force.

I always see LPD roll through stop signs and speed. And, I also always see them pulling over motorists for rolling through stop signs and speeding. Are they above the law or something? I live on Vancouver and see cops driving down my street going 40-45mph. Then they'll hide on the side streets and ticket people for going 32. And what's the deal with them hanging out in the church parking lot on College and L for HOURS on end at night? Sometimes there are two of them pulled up driver's window-to-driver's window just chatting for an hour.
It just seems like they waste a lot of time and are kind of shady about some stuff. I don't know the whole ssophiiee's whole story, but from what I've seen, I wouldn't doubt it.

You're so wrong on that. If that was the case, why did Granada refuse to press charges or seek restitution? They did find football shoulder pads outside the locker room and take a pair onto the roof. But there was never even a question of whether they vandalized, not in the police report or in court.
You're all going off topic here. I'm not doubting that my brother and his friends made a bad decision. They went somewhere they didn't belong. The reason I posted in this forum is because of the responding officers behavior and the unnecessary and excessive charges that were initially brought. I wouldn't feel this way if the court had agreed with those charges. But the court actually noticed that officer sleeper had made a MISTAKE and charged them with residential burglary. This was a $30,000 difference in bail. We didn't bail them out, but still.
You know something is wrong when the DA apologizes to them about having such a negative experience with law enforcement and the judicial system. And, our lawyer encouraged us to file a civil suit for LPD's "mistake".
You have got to be kidding?? File a suit for having a negitive experience while vandalizing school property? Yes, let's let the public award them for what they have suffered from! OMG I now think I have heard it all. What sort of scumbag, lowlife lawyer do you have that would recommend such a action? Those scumbags are the one who really need to be critized here. They turn a person who has committed a CRIME into a victom? Was your idiot brother scarred for life due to what the cop did? Oh and the cop chewing tobacco while on duty-such a crime! Honey you need to catch a frickin clue and realize this experience should be a wake up call for your stupid brother and his friends. I know, let's sue the janitor for leaving the locker room door open and making your stupid brother and friends do the damage they did! That janitor should be fined and apologize to them all for the trouble he made them get into! Sound crazy? Yes it is and so are you!!

ya seriously, sue the janitor right? people make mistakes on paperwork all the time and in criminal cases it can be a blessing any thing other will just get noticed and fixed like in your brothers case but other than that ya your brothers young and dumb we all were for doing what he did and thats what you get nowadays instead of back in the day a cop letting you throw your weed down the drain, you get a fine, some classes and probation. what the cop says or does to the person hes arresting is his business and nothing wrong with that unless that person turns up injured or better yet dead. its too bad officer 'sleeper' i believe it was, hurt your brother and his friends feelings by not being "professional" lol seriously this must be your first dealing/run in with the law cause your complaining when what im seeing is standard procedure, consequence could have been worse, a mistake in paperwork that was fixed and omg not 5 days of their lives taken away! thats why you get arrested early in the week not right before the weekend. justice served ex dope fiend.

I have had bad and good experiences with LPD. It depends upon the person behind the badge. They are people like all of us. I see same thing in my workplace; some good hard workers, others there just to collect a check and do as little as possible, then abuse system to take every day off they can leaving everyone else to pull their weight..........Some LPD officers have been stellar, others were not worth a shit!

Most parents can't teach their children to be honest.

Reason; They can't lead by example, the children over the years, observe how dishonest their parents are.

Daily Horoscope for May 25

Aquarius

You're very feisty and energetic and there's a lot you want to achieve. You'll get rather impatient if anyone stands in your way. A close emotional relationship will either be sexy and exciting beyond belief, or bad-tempered and tetchy. If you're in a grumpy mood, try to work out why - and what would improve matters. One thing that's bound to help is physical exercise, because it will burn off any excess nervous energy.
