Gore skeptical of 'clean coal' in Dominican address

Full story: Marin Independent Journal

Former Vice President Al Gore voiced support Monday for the Obama Administration's plan to build a "supergrid" that could carry the electricity generated by solar, wind and other renewable resources from remote parts of the nation to America's cities.

He flunked out of "Divinity school" and did a Powerpoint documentary. In a time of peace and prosperity (actually a recession had begun but wasn't known at voting time), he lost his own state and failed to be elected President, the first VP to fail in those circumstances. As Forrest Gump said "Stupid is as stupid does". Not commenting about this proposal. But who would take advice from this near-idiot and liar ("I remember walking through the tall elephant grass in Vietnam, shots wizzing by my head...." Completely refuted by his superiors).

How many homes does Gore own, how large are they, and how much energy do they use? The Gore family wealth comes from Occidental Petroleum. Gore's father (also one of the democrats to vote against the 1964 and 1965 civil rights bills) was real tight with Armand Hammer (OXY CEO). And doesn't Gore himself get royalties from a zinc mine on one of his many properties? A real man of the people.

Let's start with sending our troops home from all over the world. 400,000 gallons of gas a day in afghanistan is too much.

Stop oil and gas subsidies here.

Instead of just a massive Wall Street financed and interest payment sucking supergrid, we need decentralized rooftop solar and local power production where possible.

Carbon trading is a Wall Street scam to enrich the financial parasites feeding on our economy. I hope Gore's not falling for that....

http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/story/28... #
.. And instead of credit derivatives or oil futures or mortgage-backed CDOs, the new game in town, the next bubble, is in carbon credits — a booming trillion- dollar market that barely even exists yet, but will if the Democratic Party that it gave $4,452,585 to in the last election manages to push into existence a groundbreaking new commodities bubble, disguised as an "environmental plan," called cap-and-trade. The new carbon-credit market is a virtual repeat of the commodities-market casino that's been kind to Goldman, except it has one delicious new wrinkle: If the plan goes forward as expected, the rise in prices will be government-mandated. Goldman won't even have to rig the game. It will be rigged in advance.

"To make those changes, however, Gore argued that Americans would have to overcome the political influence wielded by large polluters."

Al gore wants us to "change our lifesyles" but uses more electricity in one month at his mega estate than the average person uses in one year. He want's wind tubines but his own mentality of save the planet wont allow windmills to be put up for fear of harming birds.
He wants electric cars that use electricity from burning dirty coal and oil from the middle east.
Wake up greentards! global warming has happened after the past 2 ice ages and will happen again from mother nature. What caused those periods of global warming? dinasours farting?

Wind and solar account for between 1 and 2 percent of our electrical resources.
They want to double it it 10 years or something like that at a cost of billions. What about the other 96% of our needs that are rising?

AND...(Al Gore who invented the internet) running around lying and fear mongering to everyone for years during the Clinton/Gore administration, the world was going to end when "Y2K" rolled over...

Possibly until today... The biggest imaginary lie and hoax ever perpetuated by a government administration on to the public to "stimulate" the economy.

As a result people were buying extra food, power generators, guns and ammo, gas gussling SUV's to drive to the mountains while polluting the enviroment, believing planes would fall out of the sky, people buying new computers and taking money out of the bank because computers would fail. All occurences and things which did grow the economy...

Clinton said "It's The Economy Stupid". I have always maintained "It's The Internet Stupid". Clinton and Al Gore spewing their fear mongering, imaginary doomesday tactics and snake oil promotions of the day, "The Sky is Falling" misleading people to get them scared to spend money....

Why should anyone believe Al Gore's imaginary global warming, fear mongering, hocus-pocus theories, Lies and untruth scare tactics this 2nd. time around???$$$

One crazy imaginary phantom in a lifetime is bad enough, but two imaginary phantoms in a lifetime, is two too many...

BTW: At least Bush's Ranch is greener then Al Gore's Mansion. The Pasminco Zinc Mine, is situated on Gore's plantation...

P.S. Al Gore buys his carbon off-sets credits from himself--the Generation Investment Management LLP, "an independent, private, owner-managed partnership established in 2004 with offices in London and Washington, D.C." of which he is both chairman and founding partner.

The "Left-Wing Lug-Nut" skeptics and hatemongers will decide the outcome of this historic Obama presidency.

Gore is right on one thing. Talking about carbon sequestration, he said "and there's a limit to how much taxpayers are going to want to pick up the tab."

That basic fact will eventually sink all of his grandiose schemes. The low-carbon-footprint enterprises that succeed will be the ones that make economic sense, not the ones that are funded by the Congressman who is a friend of the company CEO.

It ain't the '50's anymore, Al, and schemes of the type your daddy and the Occidental Petroleum CEO used to run with abandon don't work anymore. Yeah, there will be some tax-funded frauds, but they won't last past the point where the lefties have spent their disposable cash on worthless pieces of paper called "carbon credits".

Yes I agree, a great Capitalist...

Al Gore buys his carbon off-sets credits from himself--the Generation Investment Management LLP, "an independent, private, owner-managed partnership established in 2004 with offices in London and Washington, D.C." of which he is both chairman and founding partner.

Y2K also known as the millennium bug was an imaginary computer problem related to year 2000. A threat that was greatly exaggerated by Clinton/Gore to sell over-priced solutions and stimulate the economy...

Skeptically, Global warming is the accelerated warming of the atmosphere due to human activities, the Gore Skeptics rant... To sell over-priced solutions, create imaginary green jobs, and lies to stimulate the economy and put money in Gore's pockets...

One crazy imaginary Y2K phantom in a lifetime is bad enough, but two imaginary phantoms in a lifetime, Global warming, is two too much...

What???

Dutra's mining for highly-rare "clean coal" at Dominican University?

Who'da thunk it! Good on them for being such a good local company!
