You said "Gary Ford lost, which again illustrates the success of hit pieces and the need for San Rafael to pass clean-campaign reforms."

Gary Ford
Gary Ford lost because he was a loose canon not ready for prime time and he pandered to xenophobic white males. Next time he needs to reach out to all residents of San Rafael and not buy into the small pockets of racists in Marin.

College of Marin, the "faculty group" is a very small self appointed union Cabal, and certainly don't represent the position of faculty leaders.

The majority of faculty had no idea they did these last minute hit piece mailings and robo calls. Not only do they hide their activity from their own rank and file, while hiding behind the UPM banner, but they also do a disservice to the students they are hired to serve.

The city of San Rafael can save millions of dollars a year and take a substantial load off the police dept. by GETTING RID OF THE ILLEGAL ALLIENS!
Stop supporting them and cut off ALL taxpayer paid benefits.

IJ editorials are off base (again). The paper writes:
"Gary Ford lost, which again illustrates the success of hit pieces and the need for San Rafael to pass clean-campaign reforms."

What?

Gary Ford lost because he was out of touch, a contrarian, and ignored a large part of the voters. If anything, the mailer that was sent helped garner sypmathy for him (which he did not deserve).

This is a country where free speech is valued. Ironic that the IJ would come out against it. I think this is just sour grapes from the IJ who endoresed a loser (and another loser in Measure G.)

Thanks for nothing out of touch IJ editorial board.

Why is it that the author of this editorial thinks it is so significant to have women elected, yet fails to set forth what their agenda(s). I thought that this country and county were beyond the sexism and racism where one gets voted on because they are or are not part of a group (yea right, how many people voted for Barak Obama because he is black?!).

There she goes again. Wanden "Jim" Treanor cannot stop attacking COM's faculty union. Does anyone wonder why they put out a mailer against her reelection? At least they are open about their feelings about her. They don't hide behind the alias of another trustee's name to attack those who don't agree with them. She may have been reelected, but she lost her majority. Treanor will now be marginalized as she deserves.

Unfortunately all the clean campaign reforms won't stop the independent expenditure committees which are protected by the Constitution. As long as the committees don't work with the candidates' campaigns on a mailer or an ad, these committees can say just about whatever they want. The Supreme Court ruled they have free speech rights.

You are very delusional in your analysis, both with your mixing of names and your predictions about the majority on the COM BOT.

$20 says no majority shift.

The only one hiding here is YOU! Come out from the shadows.

And yes many people are wondering why a small union committee put out a hit piece. They certainly weren't speaking for the majority.

You'll find out soon enough!

I think we will find that there is some collaboration on a campaign in the county. Follow the money.

The IJ Editorial board is not the issue here. What, Jim & Mr. Jonathan Fraudman, do not realize is this... the City of San Rafael is broke. San Rafael is closer to Vallejo's sinking destiny of red ink than ever. What every man, woman and child in San Rafael need to realize is... the party is over. We have live on less. Sad but true. Ford gets 3400 votes because a lot of people do not like the way the city is run... Period. This shadow "Name calling" on this Web board is meaningless -- how about some solutions, people!! The new team at City Hall will need to find a way to make due. The cuts are coming.

You are the only "shadow" calling people names. Yes the cuts are coming and hopefully some better leadership to serve the people will mean an improved quality of life instead of continued poor stewardship. A new day has begun.

Maybe you can stop all this squawking and pitch in.

Did you all know that $30 BILLION per year* is spent on illegal aliens nationwide. Time for all of us to demand that our existing immigration laws be enforced.$30 BIllion for foreign lawbreakers is a crime. No other country is dumb enough to allow for this scam -- why do we? Time to vote all politicians who do not take a stand on this. No sanctuary city for San Rafael. Time to vote BORO and his minions OUT. What a "tax and spend" fraud! Shame on the City of San Rafael for their pandering. Criminal Barbara Boxer needs to be voted out. She is selling us down a river.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Pisces

Someone is in a very boisterous mood today, and you may want to make yourself scarce after a short spell in their company. Their idea of a joke may be your idea of extreme rudeness, or they could take pleasure in being argumentative just for the sake of it. Don't let this person wind you up or you'll go off pop through sheer tension.
