Let's see, the bank made the loan originally, despite Richardson's dicey credit history with house loans, the bank ate $190,000 at the time of the foreclosure sale to York, and now they have obviously paid off York to reclaim the house for Richardson. Surely, that had to be a sizeable amount. The stockholders of the bank must love it. Was any of it a favor for a politician? Of course not. Or so the bank claims. I wonder if she's still driving that custom ordered Lincoln at a cost of $1800 a month to the taxpayers? The most expensive vehicle lease in the entire Congress? I say she's incompetent and corrupt. Vote for someone, anyone else.

I cannot believe the cool aid drinkers in LB voted her back in last year. Amazing.

No. It looks to me like she's taking personal responsibility and yet being effective as a first year freshman member. Personally, I like the fact that my representative has a stake in the housing market turning around.

To me it looks like she is getting ready for the next primary election in a little less than two years. She is trying to cover up what happened by making the agreement confidential. She can't afford (pardon the pun) to have this hanging over her head a year and a half from now when she will have to start campaigning. Her life choices will become ammunition for anyone planning on taking her on, democrat in the primary and republican in the election.

If she were really trying to take responsibility, she would have dropped out of the race and taken the next 3-4 years to straighten out her financial obligations and THEN re-run for congress. If she is really that good of a candidate, she would have done that for her constituents.

It looks like she has heart and determination, and willing to take personal risk for the greater good. She's not folding with the negative press. She's making adjustiments and fighing on. I respect that and you should too.

I don't respect what she has done. She has committed unethical acts and possibly some illegal acts. That I can not respect.

If she wants respect, she should drop out of the race, get her financial house in order, and run again in four years. That would be what a respected public figure would do.

Sending her to congress now makes a laughing stock out of everyone who voted for her and her entire congressional district.

Oh please, simply saying it is a non story won't make it go away. Who else is going to pay for her custom overpriced Lincoln. She could never find a another job that would enable her to take such advantage of her employer and that is why she won't resign. Since Laura only takes responsibility for things after they come out in the press, saying she is taking personal responsibility at this point is too much of a stretch for anyone to believe. She is only acting now because she wants to try and stem the flow of negative publicity. The unpaid bills left in Laura's wake shows her true character and lack of integrity.

According to an ad in today's LAT you can lease a Maserati Quattroporte for $1499 a month -- that's quite a bargain compared to what the taxpayers are getting charged for LR's Lincoln.

Actually I think it is a great idea. We should all send in advertisements for leased vehicles that are cheaper than what she is driving. We should keep this up until she leases a cheaper vehicle. I would be willing to invest in 52 stamps for the next year to send my letter.

C'mon people. What has this poor lady done wrong? She ia a hard working representative who has only our interests in mind. Has she been accused or charged with any wrong doing? She is the victim of the oppressive vocal majority. Please cut her some slack so she can focus on continuing to do a good job for us. Thank you

What has she done wrong? Here is a partial list off the top of my head.

1. She used a LB city car issued to her very probably to drive to Sacramento. Using the car for things other than city business, an ethical violation.

2. She obtained a sub prime loan on a house after having defaulted numerous times on her other two homes, very possibly receiving special treatment due to her status as a state congress person. An ethical violation and very probably a criminal violation.

3. She took state tax free money for reimbursing housing costs which she never used for housing, hence the foreclosure process. An ethical violation, a very probable criminal violation, and a very probable IRS tax code violation.

4. She obtained loans and lied about her husband at the time agreeing to the loan (when in fact he stated to the PT that he never even knew about the loan). An ethical violation, one that jeopardized potential criminal prosecution of the person making the loans.

5. She obtained services and did not pay the small business owners for an extended length of time and while she did finally pay them, it was not until a PT article brought these failures to light.

6. She has leased the most expensive vehicle for her tenure in congress. This is just tacky considering all the of people in her district potentially are going to have their taxes raised a very sizable amount and some of them are losing their houses.

7. She has voted on legislation to help those people who have defaulted on their home loans (something she has done quite frequently, defaulting that is). Since she and her loan institution has settled the lawsuit over the legal sale on her foreclosed home, she will probably escape ethics violations for this but it was an ethical violation and again she has appeared to have received special treatment from her mortgage company, very possibly due to her status as a congress person.

Those are just some of the issues that I can remember off the top of my head. A lot of ethical violations, some very real probable criminal violations, and at least one potential IRS tax code violation.

That is just what has been reported in the PT. What other things have occurred that we don't know about yet?

Does that answer your questions about "What has this poor lady done wrong?"

"Hot Rod Lincoln" lyrics by Charlie Ryan:

We had flames comin' from out of the side
Feel the tension, man, what a ride!
I said, "Look out, boys, I've got a license to fly"
And that Caddy pulled over and let us by

Now all of a sudden she started to knockin'
And down in the dips she started to rockin'
I looked in my mirror; a red light was blinkin'
The cops was after my Hot Rod Lincoln

They arrested me and they put me in jail
And called my pappy to throw my bail
And he said, "Son, you're gonna' drive me to drinkin'
If you don't stop drivin' that Hot Rod Lincoln!"

Lil Mama has a longstanding history of fine service to her constituants. She is well connected with the big and small. She was very instrumental in bringing Long Beach's Finest Son Snoop to Long Beach. That is a very admirable thing. Both Snoop and Laura have done so much for our youth.

The Lincoln is no big thang. Dont you know she has to drive around her District and usually has to drive her staff and community members. That may be up to 6 people. Plus, Lincolns are made in the USA.

Foreclosures have hit almost everone. I am currently in foreclosure on my home. So are my neighbors.

Bills...havent we all been a little late on paying creditors? I currently have some collection agencies calling me all the time. She is just probably too busy to pay her bills.

Please cut her some slack. Thanks
