Actually......if my memory for history serves, I seem to recall that Columbus may have been looking for India for trade. It honestly never occured to me that that may have been where the Indian term came from in North America. I'll do some research. Interesting though.

Ok, I was wrong again. It seems he was trying to get to Indonesia. Strange, though, that, because of one man, an entire continent of people would be named indian. Thank you for the history lesson!
