Some states (and I think Texas is one of them) have laws where this teenage criminal would be charged in the deaths of his two partners in crime, so I guess it could set him straight to either life in prison or death row.

People are fed up, and perhaps teenagers are getting the message that breaking into someone else's home can get you killed.

Here in Marin it's likely the homeowner who would be facing charges (sadly).

The little thieving punks just don't get it.

When you do a home invasion in Texas you risk getting yourself killed for being stupid. Law in Texas states a homeowner has the right to defend his family and property.

They were stupid, they made the choice to invade, the homeowner gave them Texas justice.

Adios punks, you won't be doing anymore home invasions!

What this story fails to mention, is that one of the teenagers was carrying a handgun, and pointed at the resident of the home when he broke into his bedroom. Two of the other teenagers were carrying pellet guns, which looked like rifles. The fourth said he was not carrying a gun, but he got away, and only got caught when he returned to the area to check on his buddies. He probably ditched his gun, so that he would look less guilty.

Sounds like they should be tried as adults if they had guns, even the pellet guns. WTH, no pity here. They were not there to play Santa Claus, they were their to hurt and maim people

Good riddance. 2 less scumbag criminals. I love a good ending like this. You will have people like Daniel who will say "they were great kids", blah, blah, etc. People are tired of the bullsh/t and don't want to hear it.

"people like you have no conscience" ???? Are you talking about the turds who break into innocent peoples homes to rob and terrorize them ? Go cry somewhere else.

Shame is with the gangstahs and their families. That is where the shame really is. Thank God this innocent family did not suffer being maimed, terrorized, killed nor robbed by this hoodlums. Two left who will now cost the taxpayers. Your pity party means nothing to most families who read this story. Are you going to pay the full bill for these goon teens like medial and jail life? Probably not. They will have the trauma of there actions to deal with and no one to blame but themselves. Too lazy to work for what they want.

A man's home is his castle. Why the hell do criminals have rights while they are committing a crime anyway? It would be heartbreaking to have your kids killed, but somewhere along the line, some parenting went missing. When problems used to happen, a good parent would say "just give me a few minutes officer, then you take him" If this happened, then the police would not have to be solving these problems. You break into a man's house, he's going to shoot you. Know the rules, or don't play the game.

Frankly I am not sure how anybody has the nerve to commit a crime in Texas anymore. That's not an insult. I am just saying, they don't mess around there.

Well I say that when you go to rob a house with a gun you plan on useing it and you as a home owner don't have time to ask the boys at 2 am. in the morning " Are you going to USE that Gun Young Man ?

They aren't criminals until tried & found guilty by a competent court. That said, breaking & entering (I assume the door/window wasn't open), waving a deadly weapon (or look-alike), pointing the weapon at the legal homeowner in his own bedroom ... that's not going to end well. If it is ruled self-defense, then the court will go on to prosecute the surviving teen.
