What the owners of the mall don't realize is that everyone that shops at Northgate goes there to GET IN and GET OUT. It has ALWAYS been that way. Those restaurants will only survive on the lower class. BJ's is going to have a tough, tough time. The people that shop at Northgate live seconds away, thus they won't stay and eat there. The people that hang out at the mall (anchor babies included) don't have the money to eat at BJ's. BJ's is really a place for the lower class to think they are eating at a really nice place. They will eat there but it will be very sporadic because when they see their bill they will remember. There are plans for 3 more other restaurants. There is no way they are going to all do well. No way. You will see the restaurants pull out of there first in 12-18 months. The mall has no identity, no real reason to go there and no reason to hang out. It has medium high end and bottom of the barrel. The village is high end. The mall has no identity and the owners are banking on the younger crowd only, hence the H&M.
It will be interesting to see what that place looks like in the future.
you think bj's is going to have a really tough time in the mall? if it really is having a tough time, then why whenever i pass by it and when i went there to eat, is it extremely crowded? and why is chipotle always filled up? bj's is also no better quality than cheesecake factory, applebees or tgi friday's.

Thank you Ridiculous for enlightening me on "Anchor Babies and Brats." Sounds like a new Beanie Baby! Hey, now there's a concept for the mall--"Barrio Beanies!"

Oh I definitely love Chipotle and the fact that their standards are so high, but their average burrito (especially the barbacoa which is far and away my favorite) is something like 1200 calories, that's all.
You're right-on with the other places hurting. I'm sure BJ's and Chipotle will definitely mean a drop off in business for these other restaurants (between Chipotle and something like High Tech Burrito? There's no comparison).
You are correct.High tech is WAY better.

High Tech Burrito's is dog food. Bland at that too with inferior ingredients. High Tech is the Jack-n-the-box of burrito shops.

Best burrito in marin by far.Tasty with actual flavor.Yes it is Americanized for sure, but that is why they are good.Authentic mexican food is terribly bland for the most part.Lacking flavor. It took Americans to modify the blandness and make this food edible.

I went to the mall today. I too am glad that Sees is back. But I agree that having no covered passageway between the main mall and Kohls is a disappointment. Also, that open space seems to have eliminated so much retail space - to me, it made the mall seem smaller.
Also, was expecting many more stores to be open, particularly the ones everyone is waiting for: H&M and Forever 21. I thought the ones there had nothing really to offer. Children's Place was a disappointment - loud clothing for kids, with lots of embellishments.
Finally, there was a scummy element hanging out in front of the Applebees today - sure hope they aren't a regular thing. Looked like 16-18 year old skateboard bums, shirtless, and looking for trouble. My daughter mentioned one had a hole in his jeans right at the zipper line, and she thinks she saw some skin. Yuck. Hope this mall doesn't become a magnet for dirtbags. The old Northgate wasn't all that bad the way it was.

Chipolte was okay. Very expensive if you want guacamole and cheese on your burrito. They charged another $Z.50 making my burrito $8.60. A regular boring burrito is $6.10. Women will like it, men will say it is way too small.
High Tech Burrito is awful.
The place under the freeway on 4th Street is the best burrito. I will go there, they don't charge extra for guacamole or cheese, and their burrito is twice as large as a Chipolte burrito.
San Jose Taqueria. But don't tell these dolts. That place has the best and most reasonably priced burritos (mainly what I get) that I have ever eaten. You can feed a family of four on excellent tasting food for under $20 bucks. And I would put them up against ANY burrito shop in the City. Any. Simply the best.

When I peeked into Chipotle, all I saw was a small counter with about 5 things in stainless steel trays. Looked like a very sparce type of "burrito shop" to me. And totally sterile looking. I was anticipating a vibrant place with lots of choices, but didn't see that. Maybe I should look again. As for Applebee's. That place STINKS! I have given them 3 chances and each time it was awful. I really miss Chili's. I hope that brew place fills in that gap, because Applebee's couldn't hold a candle to them.

I wouldn't be sad if Applebee's took a hike. I want that Chinese place back that was next door. They were top notch, City quality Chinese food. Something we sorely lack here in whitebread Marin.

Why would I stop going to "those places" if that is what I prefer? I need you to tell me what to like now ? Luckily there is a variety to choose from here so I can eat what I like and you can eat what you like , right ?

I reluctantly have to tell You, He's right on this one, believe Me, I've never steered You wrong before.
Besides, He's got a chunk of Diaperite, that will render Your Super-powers virtually useless against him, or others.

Mrs. Bunny's designing a new Super hero outfit for You, and She's already done with the "Red Diaper" crest, but was wondering what color You'd like for rest of it, and, cape?, or no cape?

Keep-up the good work keeping El Sobrante safe from the super-Fiends!

Although I've never had a High-Tech burrito, I'm going to agree with Diaper Man on this one. When I'm out to eat, I'm not looking for the 1 lb. burritos that these taqueritas serve up. Give me a Taco Bell Burrito Supreme any day. I know what I'm getting, if I'm in Novato or Casper, Wyoming. And it aint bad. I'm not saying it's good. But it aint bad. And that's what I'm looking for. Something that aint bad...

You obviously have never been to Papalote or La Coumbre in the City. San Jose Tauqueria is cheap but the salsas are inferior.

I spent most of my life in the City. I've been to probably every taco shop there is, including the two you mentioned. La Cumbre is top level, but I'd still take a San Jose.
Best green salsa this side of Guadalajara.

Daily Horoscope for December 12

Gemini

If you were planning to get a lot done today you'd better lock yourself away from every other living soul. That's because it's a day when everyone you meet is immensely chatty, and you're also in a garrulous frame of mind. It's fine if you don't have anything else to do, but it will be frustrating if you're trying to get on with the chores and you keep being interrupted. Try to be considerate if someone else is up to their eyes in work and you're holding them up.
