Boo freaking hoo, people complain about everything. The law is the law, we have had it too well for so long that when the belt gets a little tighter we complain. Just follow that rules as you should always be doing and there will be no problems. As for Susan Kunzler, OMG, grow up! "I didnt have my stickers on", "I made an illegal turn" but its just the state that needs more money. Again blaming everyone but yourself, Hey SUSAN, if your pants are fitting tighter than loose some weight! The CHP is just doing there job, plain and simple.

Don't fool yourself. Increased traffic violations, fake DUI check points, etc. are all forms of raising revenue.

Driving is down due to high unemployment but traffic ticket revenue is up. Don't be dumb it is all about revenue. Why do you think the city brags about the La Puente bike cops bringing in 300,000/yr in tickets.

More revenue, sure. But she ignored a sign, plain as day! She deserves a ticket. Plain and simple. She's not some teenager. She should know better. Except she chose to to do it. She's a fool.

She had her sticker but didn't put it on. Sure, a warning would have been sufficient, I think, to get her off her lazy butt and to put on one little sticker. It happens every year! What's new, or difficult, about it? Geez.

I've not heard of fake DUI check points. If they were to set one up, wouldn't they be busting people that appeared intoxicated? Then, wouldn't that make it a "real" checkpoint?

So glad that someone has mentioned the "No Left Turn" on Albatross Rd off Puente Hills Town Center, close to Colima Rd, that needs to be reviewed and changed somehow, always having to make a right turn when EVERYONE needs to go left to get onto Colima Rd, there has to be a better way, this has even hurt Puente Hills Town Center, maybe just a stop sign somewhere on Colima Rd accross from Souplantation so that we can exit from there instead of Albatross Rd.

some are correct, driving is down due to the economy. all law agencies are out in force for some reason. in June, San marino PD was in temple city citing for a failure to yield to a pedestrian. they blocked a side street to park over a dozen bikes and when you passed them, they came at you with that reason. now we hear of baldwin park's check points and the tow companies. if there is no money in the budgets. why go out and wring up some drivers that are barely making ends meet as it is already. we need to stand up to this. if you have your tags with you, let them put it up right there.. fix it tickets are a waste of energy, time and money, like taking a day off to go to the DMV. and we put up with this!

CHP Sgt. Joe Zizi said issuing citations is about maintaining safety, not raising revenues.

"It's important to note that the California Highway Patrol does not make any money off the enforcement documents we write," Zizi said. "We are the only agency in California not to benefit from the proceeds from the tickets we write."

That is soooo much BS! The CHP are employees of the State of California! Moron.

I have driven in this area... There are nothing but bad drivers and lots of accidents. I would say that city is the most dangerous place I have driven in. I'm glad to see more cops stopping all the bad drivers out here. If you are one of those people, you are not aloud to drive/pass on the right side of the road where there is not a lane!!!

All I can say is be happy you have traffic enforcement there. Living in an area without traffic cops is a nightmare, especially when dealing with immigrants who bring they're horrible driving skills over with them. Like they say, You don't what you've got till it's gone.

Geez!!! When are people going to start taking responsibility for THEIR actions? Susan, WHO elected not to put on their tags? WHO elected to make an illegal turn?

There is a reason for the "NO LEFT TURN" sign from the shopping center onto Albatross. The road coming from the left has a blind curve coming down hill. Someone looking to their left may not see anyone in that moment but the speed of someone coming down that hill will get them there in an instant. Besides, traffic on Colima has morphed into pure anarchy. People are simply doing what is convenient and expediant for them without any thought of the vehicle code. Maybe that's why there's construction to build a median along Colima.

Albatross? Nope, it's pretty level and you can see quite some distance. The hill you're thinking of is way off past a few more traffic lights. Check Google Street View if you don't believe me. The no left turn is because of heavy traffic and an unwillingness to add more traffic lights, which makes that area very inconvenient for pedestrians too, since it's nearly a 1/2-mile gap without a safe place to cross the street.

When you have a choice between adding time to your trip through one of the most crowded intersections in Rowland Heights or breaking the law, it's not surprising that some people try to save some time and break the law.

Ignorance of the law is no excuse, period! I wish they would write more tickets as the quality of driving in this state has dramaticaly declined in recent years. Deputize me and I will 'fill the coffers' of cities to the brim...

Its about damn time they enforce the driving laws over there. I drive that area everyday and it amases me the amount of people that run red lights, make illegal lane changes, and break other traffic laws. Kudos to the CHP for finally cracking down on these idiots. All the people that complained and cried in this story need to shut up and learn the laws and quit crying about it. Grow up people learn to drive correctly and obey the traffic laws and the CHP won't bother you.

What the criminals are mad now because the law won't allow them to break the law anymore? Be for real, you thugs.

Those two no left turns side from both sides of Albatross have been there for about 6 years. I was involved in an accident there before the signs. It may be inconvenient, but it would take great care under most circumstances to execute a left hand turn - I have often have to brake hard to avoid people doing so.

If people really wanna make a statement fight your ticket even though you are at fault. You have until the very last second when the judge is about to rule. By doing this the officer has to appear in court therefore he will not be on the streets writing citations for "failing to signal" or some ridiculous violation. Over 98% of tickets go uncontested. Just think if 50% were contested they would not be spending there time issuing nuisance tickets and might be able to turn around and let you off the hook with a "courtesy" warning.
