Master Gunnery Sgt. Mark Oliva, a spokesman at Camp Pendleton, California, said the photo was brought to the attention of the 1 Marine Expeditionary Force inspector general in November, and he found there was no intent on the part of the Marines to identify themselves with a racist organization.

Oliva said the investigation found that the SS symbol was meant to identify the Marines as scout snipers, not Nazis, but it was nonetheless not acceptable.

Heard an American on TV saying that American space program after WW2 shouldn't be called US space program, but it should be called German space program, because vast majority of scientists were Germans who came to US under government secret programs. During the war those scientists worked for Hitler.

read up on werner von brown.... head of nasa, an ss officer, and used slave labour to build the v2.... this guy is a hero to most americans... says alot

Lets be honest. I don't believe he started all that evil. Hitler did it. He had to follow orders. What Nazis did is very bad, but evil things still happen in the world we live.

Well, with the whitewash 'justification' given by the US Marines, I guess India can now use the swastika on its flag what with it being an ancient Hindu symbol, centuries before the Nazis misused it.
