My cousin used Pot to curb horrible nausea during a trial cancer treatment. At the time, she was 23 years old, and suffering from a horrible, rare form of breast cancer. The medical trial included medicines so potent that most of the recipients could not handle them and had to discontinue use due to malnutrition from horrible vomiting. My cousin, however, lived due to the treatments, and the Dr. attributed her doing well with the treatments to her smoking pot. He could not understand how just like that her nausea went away. When he found out it was from Pot, he told her in secret not to stop, as it was allowing her life to be saved.
Now, she is in her 30's and has two beautiful children and one heck of a great husband. She would not be alive today if it weren't for the Pot allowing her to keep her appetitie and health up during her cancer treatments. Nothing, no anti-nausea medicine or anything would do the job that Pot did. For that reason alone, I for one, support fully the legalization of marijuana nationwide. I wouldn't be able to comprehend what it would be like now without my cousin and the beautiful and awesome children she has brought into this world. Also, think of the recent bad publicity surrounding the cartels growing pot in the National Forests and National Parks around Fresno. Legalize it nationally, and they would be gone in an instant. No more damage to those beautiful places, and maybe, a little more tourism because of their eradication.

Moving story. There tuns of story like that on YouTube. The complicity of the media in prohibition is disgusting. The marijuana illegality is a grave scandal, which shows that the whole society is taken into hostage by gangsters and cartels. Prohibition of (all) drugs has to be stopped to save democracy, and to protect our children from drugs and bandits.

My heart breaks for all those people that are so sick and Now have to get rob from buying it in the streets This is so Wrong, I pray before my time is up it will be legal in all states with No Federal robbing the scene .

Agreed, show me one thing that Pot does to a person that alcohol doesn't. Alcohol has been proven to cause cancers of the liver and intestinal tract, it kills brain cells with repeated use, it affects motor skills (and yet it is legal to drive to a bar and drink), it makes people angry and violent, hangovers more than affect work ethic and job performance, and yet, it is legal and Pot isn't. And to boot, Pot has many medical uses, and in most cases is much more effective than many prescription drugs which have nasty and destructive side effects many times. Plus, I've never heard any stories coming from anyone about being so "high" on regular pot that they cannot remember how they got home, or couldn't remember where they live. Alcohol, however, well that is a different story. I've talked to people who have awaken in the middle of the road near their home, in a car, and had no idea how they got there. And again, it is completely legal. At least way back when, the citizens and governing bodies of our country were still smart enough to legalize it to prevent further criminal activities. The time is now to legalize it, take the criminality out of a usefull substance, and let the people have it if they want.

As a rational thinking person, how can I think it's a good idea to spend countless resources to incarcerate and vilify people who use a plant put here by our creator. A plant that was grown by our founding fathers and that has proven cancer fighting properties. If you don't believe it google "us patent cannabis cbd". You should see the United States governments patent of the active cancer fighting compound in marijuana. If it is so bad for society that it needs to be illegal, why would they patent it? Lets stop wasting money on this non-problem and focus on violent crime and the bankster class that continues to pillage our country with the lowest prosecution rate in decades for their crimes!

Problems exist with marijuana because it is illegal. It would never have been illegal, we would not even talk about it, and many people would be more healthy, and corruption would be less severe, and probably Obama would never been able to sign the NDAA bill. Prohibition of marijuana has been the trojan horse for "Al Capone" to get the power. If legal, we can explain to the kids that it is a bad idea to mix tobacco in cannabis joint, and this would solve the addiction problem. There are just no reason at all to make marijuana illegal, except the greedy criminal reason like making it expensive and selling it to the kids. If legal and regulated, the product becomes only a banal but excellent medication. In The Netherlands, where pot is tolerated, the youth doesn't smoke it, because it is not well seen, as opposed to any other country. It is banal, and it would look too much as a stupid trick to look like an adult. The prohibition of a drug is what makes that drug dangerous, only.

Frankie91 wrote: keep it illegal! if it becomes legal we will have a lot of problems and people especially kids will get addcited to it too! Actually, in places where pot has been legalized and not made a big deal of, research suggests that the use in children has gone down. If it isn't the "wrong" thing to do, kids won't experiment nearly as much. And, from what I understand, Pot isn't really addictive. I know many people that have put it down and never touched it again with no problem. Can't say the same for alcohol or tobacco. As for having problems, most of the problems caused by pot are caused by the criminalization of it. Competition for sales by gangs, cartels slashing and polluting national forests to grow it etc. If it becomes legal, the problems would practically vanish. Making it legal will NOT cause any more people to smoke it than what do now. Unless you live in a cave, you know it is easy to get, and millions of people smoke it whether it is legal or not. Legality will only make it possible to use without going to jail. It's a simple thing. Give people a choice. I have tried pot, and I don't like it for myself. But I don't like to drink alcohol anymore either. But millions of people do. If they want it, give it to them. Pot doesn't cause half of the problems that alcohol does and has many medical uses, as I stated in my story above. Besides, a little relaxation would do this society some good.

On Principle: I have to drive to Nevada to get the kind of trans fat I use in cake frosting for my business, since the state decided it can't be sold here. But I can get Marijuana? Where's the logic? There is also the fact that the police can more readily tell if a person has been consuming alcohol. With pot, just as dangerous behind the wheel, and not so easily noticed.

Who told you that?

That's a myth. Studies shows that cannabis prevents accidents. Young drivers-smokers get to paranoids to take a car, and old drivers-smokers are more cool and succeeds better the test of driving. Many studies have confirmed this. You can find them on the net easily. Alcohol, on the contrary, takes the inhibition away, and makes you believe your are the king of the road, when it really kills your sense of speed and relativity. It is really not comparable. With that respect, cannabis is already harm reduction. Anyway, car are dangerous, and it is even more dangerous to name easy scapegoat. Be responsible, that's all.
