Making a third atical about this story still does'nt make breaking Federal law(s) legal.
If this had occured to an American Family Who's Parents were arrested for Federal crimes, Kids taken away, lost everything the whole spiel, it might make fourt-page news for a day, and I guess it would be "You play, You pay", or "Too bad for them", kinda deal, and swept inder the carpet by the next day.
They were caught, and They, and millions more need to return to the Counrty of Their origin, and try te proccess legally.
In all reality, They should be well-off back Home after selling-off Their house here, and all the other stuff They've aquired in 17 years of shirking Our Nations laws.
Let's not forget a free education for the Kids either, and everything else They may have aquired from State/Federal programs.
This stories getting way too old, deport Them already please.

How many more sob stories is this going to evoke?
Deport them already. They've had almost two decades
to address their illigimate/illegal residency here
and never bothered. They did nothing. And now they're eliciting symathy for getting busted and deported via these "boo hoo" stories? Nauseating.
Either enforce laws and penalties equally for ALL, or not at all. Enough of these double standards. They didn't just wake up two years ago and suddenly
realize they're here illegally. They've KNOWN it all the long, and that deportation was a viable probability if busted. They got busted. Ship 'em out. They're going to get a free plane ride home, anyway. If it were a lily white Irish family who overstayed their Visa's going through this, we'd never hear about it. They'd be deported and the story deemed un-newsorthy. I'm tired of all these bleeding hearts and their misdircted sympathy. They had their day in court, a decision was made,
Feinstein and the 9th Circuit Court agree's with the deportation decision/order.

Good post. Judging from the tenor of the majority of these posts, people are fed up with this illegal immigration mess. Well, except for Jim. He doesn't know now if he's "Native American" or Hispanic or what planet he on. He's too busy blaming the C.I.A. and blaming
the U.S. for the worlds problems. Sympathy for these illegal squatters peaked and
is now on the wane. Its about time. People are starting to see these radical, bigoted, racist, non assimilating, arrogant, in-your-face, demanding reconquista's for what they really are. Invaders with an agenda. Glorified homesteaders and trespassers.

Hopefully going through the deportation process will be incentive enough to FINALLY bring respect for the laws that have been laid down. Should they choose to return, hopefully they will follow proper procedure when immigrating to this country next time around.

Isn't this a great country where they are given a second chance to immigrate correctly? I bet if they were illegal in Canada they would be barred from trying again.

The parents should have been gone yesterday. After breaking the law for 17 years and ignoring every program designed to bring them into compliance, they're still dragging things out for as long as possible. Put 'em on a southbound plane already!

As a father, though, I admit having some sympathy for the kids. They're not responsible for the mess caused by their parents' bad decisions.

Gilbert has a reprieve until next July. He needs to keep those college grades up or--better still--head for the nearest military recruiter and show he's willing to serve the country he wants to be a part of.

The girls--so-called "anchor babies" or not--were born here and have the same rights as any other citizen. Obviously 4-year-old Dulce needs to be with her parents, at least for now. Helen, at 13, is old enough to have a say in her future. If she stays with her uncle (a LEGAL U.S. resident) and continues to study hard, there are no limits to what she can accomplish in life.

To the parents, Salvador and Elida, I'd say look at the grief you've caused for your children, no matter what your motives were. Nevertheless-- adios, good luck, and on your arrival in Guatemala City, please consider getting in line at the U.S. embassy to apply for LEGAL immigration to this country.

The activists need to start realizing that there is a reason the silent majority use the phrase "ILLEGAL Immigrant" instead of the touchy-feely phrase "Undocumented Worker". There is also a reason why the silent majority aren't quite so silent anymore in regards to this topic. The silent majority are getting fed up with lawbreakers getting a free pass. The activists need to stop giving illegal immigrants false hopes.

CIA Death Squads, Covert Military actions to overthrow the democratically elected government, the School of the Americas and corporate profits via spilled blood in Guatemala, tell me who broke laws again?

You Minuteklan people are truly a bunch of hypocrite butt wipes in need of an education.

Punishing this family is like a life sentence for a parking ticket while you let murderers walk free with nary a mention. That is what is called turning a blind eye to the real crime.

Hurt your heads to much to think about US collaboration in murder and terrorism?

Oh wait, according to you murder enablers, the US never does any wrong. LMFAO

Yes this is the third article about the same topic
The so called reporter is either lazy or more likely is using his position to advocate which is professionally unacceptable
Also be continuing to run theses stories the IJ editorial staff is pandering to the liberals who support open borders and illegal immigation in an attempt to sell papers
You can run another article when they leave
It wont generate anymore sympathy than the first one

Illegal is the word that this family need to remember. Do not break the law and expect sympathy. Enter our country legally like my ancestors did. And learn English while you are in line. My German ancestors had to.

Christ, Jim, you sound like a broken record on this subject. FINE, our government has lousy foreign policy. But that doesn't change the fact that illegal immigration is a serious problem in this country. It needs to be resolved. How do we do that?

Do you really care about a solution to this issue or do you just want to give into your knee-jerk cries of racism?

Taxpayers have paid for the education of these children and continue to pay for the older boy's education at Santa Rosa J.C. Taxpayers are paying for them to defend their case to stay here. Question: Because Salvator and Elida have "legal" family here, who will be taking care of their daughter so she can remain behind, why didn't they become citizens when amnesties were offered to them over the 17 years they have been here? Every issue has a TEST case!! This one is it.

Jim Bo- I always enjoy reading your rational, well thought out and fully documented comments.... some how related to illegal entry to the US. Never any name calling or blanket generalizations. What about those evil capitalists at United Fruit, did you forget them today. Did you or your family have an experience with the CIA death squads? A number of my old US Army 'Special Forces' buddies, DID spend some time in Guatemala in the late 1970's and 1980's - they were rebuilding school buildings, improving clean water access, providing some basic health care.... Are they evil as well?

That is what happens when you allow anchor babies. Illegals come in and American citizens pay the hospital bill and provide a birth certificate.

Go home and take your anchor babies with you. You broke the law! You are an illegal alien!

Miquel, try this link, directly from the CIA, http://www.google.com/url...

then read, "Open Veins of Latin America: Five Centuries of the Pillage of a Continent". I think the San Rafael library has it.

There are many tactics that the jakals use, and yes some of that is to do some community work that they hope will hide the terrorism. The old good cop bad cop routine.

But, it still doesn't excuse the decades of terrorism. Ask your buddies what they knew about the CIA in Guatemala. It is not to late for them to learn.

You and your buddies need a good dose of reality. They fought for the American way? Let's uphold it... take accountability for the government!

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Sagittarius

Mercury turning retrograde in your house of finances carries a rather unseasonal message, because it's telling you to pay attention to your finances over the next few weeks. If you already know that you've overspent this month, you won't need to be told that a few economies are just around the corner. Get the facts straight and pay attention to the small print. You may also have to make some adjustments to an intimate relationship so it can move into another phase.
