Now for the truth. If this probation or deferred adjudication had a provision for a final conviction, you have a problem because it would be on your record. If it was handled as Bandera County Attorney Kerry Schneider does it a satisfactory completion of probation may result in the charges being dropped in which case no final guilty plea would be entered and no record would result. Her own son has enjoyed this kind of plea bargain on occassion.

Even with a Felony conviction you CAN VOTE. You have to register and when doing so you will answer a question that says you either have not been convicted of a felony or you have been convicted of a felony and have successfully completed your parole or probation. Too late to register for this election but register anyway now. You can request a voter registration card directly from the Texas Secretary of State at this website. http://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/index.sh...

Everyone who pays taxes should vote. EVERYONE !

Thats what I said. I see it work everyday in Bandera. When County Attorney Kerry Schneider or Sheriff Weldon Tucker are involved with their kids it happens frequently.

Being civil and trying to help is so easy compared to making rude, vulgar, incorrect comments in an attempt to make people like Gotti feel bigger than life. You hit the nail on the head SA Gal the world is full of angry little men.
Good luck with your life, sounds like you got something going.

i disagree with the very rude person below who made that very rude comment. some states allow you to get your votin rights back,. i am a convicted felone three times (am only a 25 yr old female) and have already been to prison and i got my voting rights resotred a few months ago in order to vote for obama this year. some states allow you to restore your voting rights as long as you are no longer incarcerated or on parole or probation

I was not framed. I did something so stupid.. I stole from the company I worked for. I totally deserved the felony conviction. I'm so thankful that I didn't have to send any time in jail. I paid back everything I took, plus lawyers fees, and the probation payment. That was a lesson that I will never forget. If anybody is thinking of doing that...DON'T!!! It is so not worth it, and you'll get caught! Doesn't matter how clever you think you are, you will get busted. Saying I was framed would be an easy way out. Nope, I did it.

HOW ARE VOTING RIGHTS RESTORED?

In past years, Texas law specified that citizens convicted of a felony offense were ineligible to vote in the State of Texas until two years after full discharge of their sentence.

Effective September 1, 1997, the legislature restored voting rights to felons convicted in Texas once a person fully discharges the felony sentence, including any term of incarceration, parole, or supervision, or completes a period of probation ordered by any court. See Texas Election Code, 11.002.

Before voting in local, state, or federal elections, a person must meet the minimum qualifications such as being a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years of age, and mentally competent. A person must register to vote in the county of residence and may obtain further information from the Registrar of Voters Office in that county or from the Elections Division of the Secretary of State's Office.

Please note that the Texas law does not affect voting rights in other states.

You know I hate people that talk shit, and don't know what the fuck they are talking about. In TX you can vote if you are a felon as long as your sentence is complete. That also includes probation and parole. As long as those are complete you are free to vote. So go register.
