ex branch manager... thank you for the DEEP DOWN BELLY laugh, I truly needed that. Your comment about stepping down so your boss's job would not be eliminated touched me, oh wait, I mean you must be touched in the head. You are absolutely correct in saying that I will not stoop to your level because I have not seen that level of stupidity since around third grade. But then again, all you want to be's never could stand up to even the kids with Down Syndrome, who by the way, are not "retards" .. YOU are the retard. As I said before, they tried to make you Coach America drivers take some responsibility but would not pay you the full amount all other Branch Managers get from PTI because you are not able to work, business wise, on a level with any other Branch Manager in the country. So you keep telling people that work at your branch how important you are (or is that impotent) because you got a try out with PTI and failed as branch manager (I could have been somebody if they had just given me another chance, really), and either quit before you got demoted or fired or just could not handle the business end because you just don't have what it takes to actually BE a branch manager, education wise nor experience wise. Then tell them how impotent you are because you are a "lead driver" and all the ass kissing you do as well as the janitor duties at your branch just to keep your job.
Well, this has been fun for me.. but I am tired of you (no fun picking on those less fortunate in the brain cell department) and anything you post here, I will ignore because you don't know a THING about what you are talking about, just blowing hot air which keeps your head full and not disfigured.
I am sure, make that SURE, everyone at your branch laughs either to your face or definitely behind your back because you truly show what an IDIOT you are each time you open your mouth. It is sad that someone like you has to actually work and can't collect the Disability Insurance I am sure your parents tried for YEARS to get for you, but you keep on keeping on little cowboy...and whatever you do, never stop going to the Special Olympics and competing because everyone is told they are a winner and gets ribbons/metals which any other company in the REAL world (PTI included) don't hand out ribbons and metals to losers like you.
By the way, I hear the nearest Walmart is hiring "greeters" with your qualifications, go for it bud it is what will make you "great". Maybe you can work up to "lead greeter" with your new found experience!!

Why do you have to put others down just to make yourself look and feel important. You are whats wrong with PTI. A company full of smug self important jack ass. You repeatedly suggest people should go to Walmart. You have issues. Just because they refused your application (probably because of the spelling mistakes crossed out in crayon) for toilet scrubber. The attude you have you should not have a supervisor position. PTI and thier union is almost a big a joke as you are. You must of been picked on in school. Did the big bad bullies give you swirlies is that why you have to quote the PTI script over and over. You have been programed. Do you have an orignal thought in that empty head of yours? You are a credit to your union, you are as useless as they are. I'd love to have a battle of wits with you sir but I d not battle an unarmed dullard. Some people work because they enjoy th people they work with eventhough the company stinks. This contract will be rebid eventually. A new company will come in and talk trash about the previous company.

Second, if PTI is doing so well, then why has there been upper level talks within UP upper management about dumping the contract with PTI. I stepped down to a Lead due to upper management eliminating Regional managers just so they could save money. I'm not griping about that one because I make more money since I got my road miles back. You seem to brag about the PTI way? I didn't know somebody could love utter confusion and chaos from policy changes every 5 minutes and knee-jerk reactions from the directors. But that's right, you're just a DYV and would never know about these kind of things. My advice to you is that you may know the contract and the policies in the blue book, but think about the way you word things, because its making you look like a pompous ass. Should we be impressed by you simply because you're a union steward?
And since when does a branch manager make 30,000 a year? I was a branch manager overseeing 3 branches and was salaried at approximately 25,000 a year. And I know for a fact that they offered a twin cities driver a salary of $500 a paycheck to manage both the bnsf and cp and up side which amounts to just over 100 drivers. And these are actual, verifiable facts.
If you think PtI is so wonderful, then why don't you go be a manager? It will be bittersweet to see you come back here in a few months and have to eat your own crow on the forum
Have a lovely day
My question Scott is how would Mr Nichols feel if he found out you called him an incompetent moron? He may not be over your branch but I bet he still has some pull there.

Answering a couple of posts here:
1. MT Couch Driver: PTI does not pay (except in EXTREME conditions) for over time, nothing over 40 hours, they do not believe in it at all. The days of you getting overtime will come to an end once PTI absorbs Coach America.
2. Sienna 1: I, personally, have not heard of any branch getting a $400 guarntee, however, it (could) be possible but my guess you have been misinformed. You better check that out COMPLETELY before you hire on based upon that statement!!
3. UPSEU (IS) a joke, however, the thing about it is in the contract, it spells out how much money you make, raises each year and vacations, all there and it can't be avoided by PTI. I know of some branchs that are NOT in the union and PTI can and does pay them (below) what the union branch drivers and yard drivers make. It also gives you a voice for grievances you have against PTI and your local Branch Manager as well as other employees; it also represents you in case you have an accident and are called in for a safety meeting which could include write up's, suspension and even being fired.
*** NOTE: if the branch you work for is NOT in the union, then I suggest you contact me to see how your branch can join and (though limited I agree) you can get better guarnteed wages at least that have already been negotiated for any branch that is a union member.
4. Yes, the Chevy Uplanders ARE going away and the rumor has it (from a trusted source) says that the Toyota's and Dodge/Chrysler's are also going away to a new vehicle that CSX and NS (at least) will pay the difference in monthly lease rates that PTI pays for the current vehicles vs the new vehicle lease payments. At this time, NS is paying the extra for Chevy Suburbans (and I hear Ford Expeditions) in the YARDS as they are more designed for the conditions in the YARDS. Road vans is what is changing very soon.

I have your E-Mail and will be sending you the phone number and name of the person you need to contact at UPSEU which is located in New York, but represents the vast majority of the branches throughout the USA.
Watch for my E-Mail, coming to a mailbox near you soon. ;)
Bye for now and thanks for writing

I feel a need to make a comment after reading these last few posts. Why is it that people in this company all feel that they are better than the next person? We are all in this together and should be helping each other with problems and not cutting each other down. I have been with PTI for a year now and even though I have learned a lot, each night I go out on a run I realize there is so much I dont know. The comradery between drivers really sucks. I have never seen so much hatred amongst each other. Why is this? This forum should be a resource for us to communicate problems and help each other out. Not a place to see how much bad we can say about someone else. I have gotten disgusted reading these posts about morons and retards. Cant we clean up our act here and start offering help to each other instead of cutting each other down? Come on folks - its us against them. Not everyone against each other.

Alice,
If you go back to the original post on this forum, you will see that there are some that are from PTI drivers who were having problems with pay and understanding something called, "Code Set" which is the ACTUAL mileage you get paid for which was set between PTI and the various railroads. People could not understand that, but I think, over the months I kept repeating myself and PLEADING with them to talk to their Branch Manager, that finally sunk in and I know some branches that did not have the Code Set books out (like they are required to do actually) for drivers to look at, finally got the books and opened their eyes to exactly what they would be paid for each trip (minus of course, wait time). Then the fun began....
PTI began taking over the bankrupt Coach America branches and the drivers began coming on here complaining about how we (PTI) "ripped them off of their (company/personal) vehicle. PTI doesn't let you take them home at the end of your shift. So we got things like, "how am I supposed to get to work if I can't take my van home?"; I can't make any money to feed my family doing runs like PTI does." etc etc etc etc. The Coach America drivers felt that they were being ripped off by PTI buying them ALTHOUGH once PTI moved into their branch and relieved them of their vans and their job, they were pointed to someone sitting there taking applications from those drivers. BUT..they had to pass a drug test, drivers license check and an E-Rail background security check. MOST of them did not make that cut. Then the ones that could not get to work because their van was now not in their private driveway. And lastly, CA drivers found it difficult to make their pickups ON TIME and were fired. So at this point, if you read through all of the posts, the ex CA Drivers began running their mouths and taking their ineptitude out on the rest of the people that were original PTI drivers trying to help other drivers out. It will pass, they will find other work somewhere and leave us all alone and the BS that has been going on will cease until the next batch of ex CA drivers get fired.
So fret not Alice, just know there IS help available if you ask for it and then take what is told you and put it into motion (getting back pay, joining the union etc). By the way, PTI does NOT want drivers talking to one another, would be happy if they never saw each other due to the way PTI treats their drivers and comparing notes, is not something they like AT-ALL!!!
Well, have a good day and enjoy the comedy on here in between the information you can gather by coming here. EVENTUALLY, all of the "lesser ex CA drivers" will be weeded out and this forum and PIT in general will be a better place in the long run.

PTI no longer sends a paper paystub. Instead, you have to log onto the payroll website, register as new (your name, your employee ID number and set up a pin (maybe the same one you use to log into the GPS) and you can see your paystubs. You can also request that each payday an E-Mail is sent to you with the basics: Net and Gross pay but not the full paystub.

This is the website, write it down or save it to your computer as a new folder so you can refer to it when you need it.

Hopeful - you need to get ahold of people you know in those branches and get them into the union. If they ARE in the union, then they need to get their Union Steward off his/her ass and get these issues resolved TODAY.
NOBODY has to put up with the BS that PTI dishes out!!! It may not be much of a union, but it IS a union and if that doesn't work, there is always the Federal Labor Board and trust me, they are already involved in a PTI/Drivers lawsuit that has been going on for 2 years now and they would not hesitate to get involved if you can't get any help from the union.

Well Alice, I guess the only, last and best, option for you is:
Only Option: take it to the United Nations and see what they can do for you since you have a problem that (nobody else anywhere) can help you with.
Last Option: sit outside of Evansville in your car and pick off the top executives with a B-B gun and see if that makes you feel better.
Best Option: find a new job that pays you what you are worth and leave PTI behind you and just let this all go.

I was wanting to retire from teaching, and was considering a job driving a van for some extra needed income each month. Thank you for your posts. It was very informative. I think I will continue teaching. At least I know what my check will be and don't have to fight for it. I already have to work and not get paid for it, but at least I have some control over how much.
