Pigeon holing; you take a person, you ask them what kind of music they like or listen to mostly – and BANG! You suspect that person to have certain likes and dislikes, judgmentally and dare I say prejudicially pigeon holing them. Oooo, you listen to Jay-Z, you must be gangsta! Oh, you listen to Mozart, you must be a dufus. Country = Kicker. Metal=Head-banger et cetera.

I believe it was Jesus who once said “Can a man not like Bar-Be-Q and Sushi?”

To be honest, Metal and Classic Rock, not including pop-rock or contemporary rock, covers a more true depth of emotion, whereas bubble-gum pop and mind-numbing rap is for sheep-like conformist. Of course the music industry churns-out metric tons of crap because of the sheer numbers of conformist, although if people had a chance to really explore music I’d think they would realize the superficial rants of pop and rap. Eeeh.

With that said, the more appreciation for different verities of music is a good thing.

Hip-Hop rules above all, it makes my speakers and bass sprew out amps for all races, to enjoy the rhythem of my bass! It is a way of life, so much better than my ex-wife. I would trade it for nothing else, it is supreme to all else. I have made it for all these years, my thumping and my bass will bring you to tears. It will bring your ears music so sweet, and your heart will be so liberated, it might just skip a beat. Metal you say is so neat, brother your so wrong, it belongs on the trash heap. So join the millions who rap and rhyme, because your Metal is'nt worth a dime........

It's chick music and really feminine. But I am not from this area so my thinking is a tad different.

As much as I enjoy all types of music, including heavy metal, I am hip hop. If you don't understand hip hop and hip hop culture that is fine, its not your way of life, and its not where you came from. That doesn't mean you need to disrespect it. I completely understand if your talking about all the so called "ring tone rap" like soulja boy, and stanky leg, and all those songs that pretty much make no sense. But even those at least have some positive movement they are getting people to dance instead of fight. Do I get excited to hear those songs, not at all, I would rather leave the club or change the station but I do see the positive.

Hip hop culture is not the gold teeth, the bling bling, nor the b word or n word, hip hop culture is about self expression, self confidence, and creativity. The same as rock may be for you, it helps your realise who you are, and gives you an outlet to be free for the time being. Well hip hop is that for us.

Don't down something you aren't familiar with, accept it or agree to disagree. Bashing on something you don't know about shows ignorance, especially to a culture that has bridged the gap between a lot of barriers.

Dude, she is one nasty ass woman. Kinda looks like a guy in drag. Please....she is fat, dark, ugly and a big ho. They fired her dumb ass from the station because they got complaints about her hittin' on the Working Womens Wednesday patrons.

I agree totally just because itsa not your type of music doesn't mean you have to talk down on it. I don't like country or rock to much but i don't bad mouth it. I mean rock is good music but I'd rather stick with Rap and Hip-Hop just me because I grew up listening to it. And I do agree about Soulja Boy and this ring tone rappers i don't like them very much thats what I believe everyone is talking about on here when they say hip-hop sucks they think about Soulja Boy and others. But I look at them as entertainers more than rappers if you wanna here real rap or hip hop listen to Tupac, Biggie, Nas, Jay Z, Common, Ice Cube, Rakim, Z-Ro, Eminem, Jadakiss, Tech n9ne, Immortal Technique those are real artist nothing wrong with a few rappers of today but their nothing compared to the old school rappers.
