Alamo Pawn is probably the nicest pawnshop ive delt with. Between every other pawnshop out there, they have a great easy going staff. Walk into this pawnshop and you''ll have service, as is to walking into any other pawnshop and them not even knowing you exist.

I just left Alamo Pawn & Jewelry at the corner of Babcock and Huebner. My wife and I were there browsing around when all of a sudden we hear swearing from the employees that were behind the counter. At first it wasn't that big a deal, but they did not stop. It continued into a heated argument. They were both dropping the 'f-bomb' like it was nothing at all. We were the only customers in the place. I walked up to the counter and asked for the phone number of the owner. One employee tried to give it to me, but the 'manager' said not to, since it was the owner's private cell number. Come to find out, the agressor in the agrument was the 'manager', a kid named Travis, and the other was one of the employees. A third employee tried to tell them both to knock it off, since there were customers in the store. The 'manager' ignored him and kept dropping the 'f-bomb' to the other employee. The entire scene make my wife and I extremely uncomfortable. My wife had several DVDs that she was wanting to purchase, but with that crap going on, she was not comfortable in the slightest even being there. So much for "great easy going staff"!!!! My next phone call is to the manager/owner. They also own the store across from Ingram Park Mall on 410. We will NOT be going back...EVER!!!

Why not just use ebay, get more money and consider your items sold. Why anyone but crackheads and drug users use a Pawn shop is beyond me. It's like a revolving door, pawn the same thing each week, pay more money to get your stuff back. It's like a Payday loan, they know once you borrow one week you will be stuck and continue to do it each week thereafter.

I am not a incredibly intellectual indvidual. That being said I do not believe it is nessacary to be so to figure out that "never again" needs to get off of his soap box and not to mettle in affairs that have no direct affect on him or his spouse. Now I am sure that smeering some employee of this pawnshop may in fact bring some kind of sense of justice to individuals who feel they were subjected to some kind of "barbaric behavior". Now once again I remind you I am not a noble laureate nor a astro physicist simply a common man with common sense. I ask you "never again", with all being said in your post I have never met a man who was so offended by words that were never directed to himself or his companion. And who when told he could not recieve a private phone number could not understand maybe just maybe at this junction he was going above and beyond the measures of good tastes and that the situation would be dealt with "in house". As it sounds to me that it is a private matter that was never meant to involve you. Now that you feel it justified to write terrible reviews of companies and its employees to inflict some kind of damage if not to simply deface the good name it has worked hard to achieve,do you feel you might have been out of line yourselves? Seriously, where does it say in the constitution of the United States that you are entitled to recieve private phone #'s and that just because you may be offended by some foul language NOT directed at you but in your presence, you should smere hard working individuals and long standing businesses of the community. Mind you all just because YOU were offended. Sounds a little like something a small minded radio station talk show host would do(Rush Limbaugh comes to mind...) Anyway your experience none the less should matter and it does in the minds of the owners I am sure, but I am sure for the owners sake "Travis'" actions were the exception and not the rule.......
