VOTE against extending city term limits!!! It’s bad for government guys...I'll be honest with all you, I voted yes on this issue thinking it was a good idea because the present council would be excluded from running. After much research ,I regret having had vote yes. I propose this, have them have one term limit of 4 years which will allow them not having to worry about re-election in another two years. Give them the max allowed presently, 2 terms of 2 years equals 4 years. Let’s not give them 8 years guys, tooooo much time.

Extending term limits will allow these people more time to perfect their skill of stealing everthing they can while they can. No, Politicians should be replaced at regular intervals just like a baby diaper and for the same reason they get full of crap.
NO EXTENDED TERMS PERIOD--GOT THAT JUDGE?
VOTE NO!!

Way to go on passing term limit extensions SA! Now we can be competitive with other major cities and finally get high profile projects (Riverwalk extensions, etc.) finished.

Kudos to Mayor Hardberger for working so hard to make this city better.

NOW YOU RISK A CHANCE TO VOTE FOR SOME ONE LIKE PAUL ELIZONDO FROM COUNTY WHO HAS NOT DONE A THING FOR US AND BE STUCK WITH HIM UNTIL HIS TERM EXPIRES...SEE IF IT IS A GOOD IDEA THEN..I DO AGREE WITH YOU ON ONE THING, THAT IS MAYOR HARDBERGER HAS DONE A VERY GOOD JOB..KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK...

By no means were the former term limits insufficient for councilpersons to accomplish the responsibilities of city council.

Miraculously, former councilpersons more often then not, assume leadership roles on boards of trust or hold public relations jobs for private concerns after they serve at City Hall. So, you need not worry about termed out councilpersons, they will be well looked after. On the other hand, citizens now have to contend with incumbents who will no doubt entrench and enrich themselves, build huge political war chests and create a political elite that harkens back to the Cisneros, Wolff, and Turner eras.

Way to step forward – we should organize a community referendum or initiative!
