Has anyone been victimized by police corruption in Socorro, NM or have any knowledge of payoffs to patrol officers to not appear in court to cause cases to be dismissed ?

Yep. Socorro PD is one of the most corrupt (not to mention incompetent) small town LEOs in the state, if not the country. They are heavily involved in the drug and gun commerce along the I-25 corridor to Mexico.

This agrees with other information I've obtained, part of which was from a former Socorro Co. deputy sheriff . Now that we have a changing of the guards in our state and county governments to a certain extent, and if enough other people with knowledge of such acts of corruption will join in, maybe, just maybe, an investigation by higher authorities could be justified. Thank you Willy Pete for your input.

I think I should clarify here, this is a serious inquiry from anyone, a Socorro city resident or not, who believes they may have been involved in any Socorro Police Dept. corrupt action at any level. We need information that can be reliably documented, dates, times, witnesses, etc. If you just have a negative issue with the Socorro Police Dept. or any individual employee of same please do not respond to this inquiry. Depending on the results of this inquiry an anonymous method of contact will be established with those who wish to participate in a request for investigation by the proper authorities. This inquiry request is not from any agency, city, county, state or otherwise, but from private citizens who believe to be victims of said inquiry. Thank you for your concern in this matter.

Hold your judges accountable. Coruption cannot occur without the collusion of the judiciary.

Has anyone in the Socorro PD been arrested on corruption charges? I have heard there was an investigation on officers taking payoffs to not appear in court so the charges would be dropped.

Actually wrote: Hold your judges accountable. Coruption cannot occur without the collusion of the judiciary. I think you may be right. Isn't there now a Socorro cop who was fired when he was a cop of some kind in Magdalena because of corruption issues ? Maybe he's pulling in more money now in Socorro, and maybe spreading it around?. The police chief and the magistrate judge must know, ask them.
