Good, these overbearing clowns, try to intimidate people into giving money by waveing their boot in your face......we don't need to resort to panhandeling to find money for charities. Instead of begging, firemen should be cleaning their trucks and repairing gear. We do not pay them to be beggars. Maybe we are giving them so much money that they are over staffed.

We need something like this in San Diego, I have never seen so many overweight beggars in my life, and as far as the fire fighters go it should be below their dignity to beg in the streets.

You two are the most pathetic citizens I've ever seen! You couldn't even dream about what it takes to be a firefighter, one of the most dangerous jobs in the world. They don't beg for money, the cause is for Muscular Dystrophy Association or MDA. Read this jackass: CHARITY FOR SICK CHILDREN. Oh but I guess you don't notice because your too busy paying attention to the waving boot. I hope you get cancer and no one helps you, you jerks. Then maybe you'll appreciate your firefighters. Better yet, if your house ever catches fire you'll change your tune. Go wash your own car and quit worrying about what firefighters do. You're lucky tax dollars pay for their service, they don't need to answer to jerks like you!

Don't they use a boot?
They should be able to get around the law. |

Your full of shit dude |

First off jerk I spent 12 years in the United States Navy and learned a shit load of firefighting onboard ship, and in the Navy we have pride and dignity not to beg even for a great cause; they need to be creative and raise money by not begging Jerk! |

its a mute point now the city allowed the fire fighters to raise money.
Thanks for the link Albert. Fill the Boot: New Location City of Issaquah and Local Firefighters Work Together on Plans for Upcoming ‘Fill the Boot’ Drive ISSAQUAH (Aug. 29, 2008)– Officials from the City of Issaquah met with firefighters from the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Local 2878 this morning to develop a plan for their membership to conduct a “Fill the Boot” fundraising event on Sept. 12 at the intersection of Front Street South and Sunset Way. The city plans to issue a permit for the event shortly. Earlier this summer, the firefighters first applied to hold their fundraiser at the intersection of Front Street North and Northwest Gilman Boulevard. Solicitation at that location, however, is not allowed under the city’s ordinance. In addition, city officials wanted to ensure the safety of both firefighters and drivers during the event. The firefighters then reapplied for a new location at Front Street South and Sunset Way, which is allowed under the city’s ordinance. City officials and Local 2878 members are also working together to develop additional safety precautions for the off-duty firefighters. “The safety of our citizens – and firefighters – is extremely important to us,” said Deputy City Council President Fred Butler.“I commend the firefighters for their admirable efforts to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, and we are focused on developing a plan that will work for everyone.” The Fill the Boot event is scheduled for 2 – 6 p.m. Sept. 12. “I appreciate that the city and police department are working with us on this issue,” said Ryan Anderson of Professional Firefighters Local 2878.“We are excited to continue planning for this fundraising event, which will truly help those struggling with muscular dystrophy.” |

what an idiot. they ar'nt begging unless they got MDS. Also they are off duty firefighters. And their wage is proboly correct for the job they do. You most likely work a wuss job so i'll give my change to you because you work minimun wage most likely. You only had one good thing to say which is "we don't need to resort to panhandeling to find money for charities." Very good point. |
