We are looking for a drug rehab in Kentucky for our nephew. He doesn't have any income, so it must be free. I have called a couple of places in Salyersville, but the only way it's free is if it's court ordered. If anyone knows of a free treatment program that would help, please post it on here. Thanks so much for Your help!

Have you tried calling REACH? They used to help pay for it for one time. Also, UNITE had a program that helped pay for rehab. They have a web site you can go to and see if they still have any programs....I know a lot of people say that if an addict wants help its easy to get but thats not true. If you don't have the money to pay for, it can be very hard to find help. Good Luck!

Reach just pays for detox some place in Ashland (I think up to 10 days). You can go through REACH and fill some kind of paper work out for a grant from UNITE and they pay for a 3 month program in Pikeville somewhere.

When I was growing up, Dad had the perfect rehab for us unruly younguns looking to disrupt what could have been an otherwise beautiful day....it is called by some,'the wood shed'. A couple sessions there with the Old Man sort of made the unruly attitude melt away!

The old adage that 'you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink' applies to addicts as well. Sure, places like Reach and Unite can waste money in 'drying out' the addict, but if the addict does not agree...as the passage in the Bible goes,'like a dog returns to his vomit, so the drunk will return to his drink....', illegal drug use is no different.

Your right, and addict has to want the hlep for it to work. Still, I don't even know why you made that comment. I was talking about people that want help but have a hard time getting it.

When you see tears running down your sons face while he is telling you he needs help, listen you would do anything, drugs caused my son to lose his job, about to lose his family, and he has no insurance, so I agree, wood shed, bible, whatever it takes, but help is what is needed,. I have worked all of my life, so has my son so asking for something free should not but a burden on some cruel person's mind.

It's not as easy as people seem to think. I'm sorry if you took it wrong. The person that I was talking to was being rude and I just wanted to point a few things out to them.

If your nephew could afford the drugs he could afford the rehab. That is what is wrong in this world today. Everybody is a "gimmee". Also, if he wants to help himself he will do it on his own. I don't care how much you do for him it isn't going to work unless he is tired of living the life he lives. If he has to pay for it he might just appreciate it a little more and not be so quick to slide back into his old habits.

to the guy with all the smart ass stuff to say about the woodshed, I have been an addict for 20 years, i've done good at times and bad at times, but I would like to take your smart ass to the wood shed and teach you a thing or two. You don't have a clue in hell what you are talking about. Your comment is about as valid as a mechanic writing a perscription, why say things like that, you don't have to answer I already knoe, YOU ARE A FOOL!!!!!!!!!!

Call Mission Teens! They are great people, and it's a great rehab! I have family that went to the one in western Ky,stayed for 10 months and has been clean for way over a year now! It's amazing what they do! And of course it is free! Only thing is,they have to want to do it because they won't make you stay.
