...for those who talk of burning other people's property, the charge for doing so is called ARSON and in Kentucky it could range in prison sentences from five years to life if convicted. Granted, some of these trailers in question may not look like they are worth a whole lot, but who has enough time to waste out of their life to take a chance on committing the crime of arson to get rid of them? Remember too that people whether 'dope heads or not' are human beings and if an arson case includes one or more of these people being killed, there could well be a place on death row just waiting for the person who lights the fire!

I just hope per the ordinance that these trailers can pass inspection. So far on this thread havn't heard one good thing about this man or his trailers. It's time for the county to have a say!

To wish for a dwelling to burn whether anyone is inside or not really defines the character of the one doing the wishing. You call yourself 'state police', that of course is your business, but I have never known of any law enforcer to 'wish' calamady on any person, especially children who may live in one of these dwellings should it burn. Certain illegal drugs are a problem and the manufacture of meth is about as low as anyone can get when involved with it, but still, it is not a capital crime and the person(s) doing this does not deserve to die over the crime. If there are children present, it is not their fault what is going on, but if the thing 'blows up' as you call it, the potential danger of the children being hurt or killed is greatly magnified. But No Matter What, if this 'fire' is intentionally set, investigators usually find the source, and then someone will most likely be talking to the Real State Police!

If you say so, however, some of us can decipher poor obliterated writing and there is plenty such material on this thread for that purpose, have a good day. As far as 'knowing any state police', I don't need to know them, I am sure they will be eager to get the job done whether we know them or not. Have a nice day.

So if the trailers have nothing to in it then it should be A non issue. And by the way if my neighbor is making meth it puts my family at risk

And by the way if my neighbor is making meth it puts my family at risk There is nothing wrong in doing what can be done to make a neighborhood more attractive and safe for the part of the community that it is in, but it must be done in a civil and legal manner. And by the way, if your neighbor is making meth and it is putting you and your family at risk, you can call the Real State Police at Post 9 in Pikeville, then your concerns would be taken care of and you won't be in trouble either. About the trailers that are unsafe and unfit that are on your property, you can get rid of them any way you wish. If you don't like what is on someone else's property, I would suggest to any body that going about it in a legal manner would do more in getting the issue settled than risk being charged for illegal actions such as trespassing, arson, and possibly even worse, such as causing someone to lose their life. As you said, "..we r not going to tolerate trailers that r unsafe and unfit", then it would be wise to deal with the situation with the limits of the law. That is all I was saying about the matter too!

I understand all about drug addiction as it runs rampid in my family. If you would prefer a dope head as your neighbor then that's your choice. But as for me I don't approve of it. I work everyday, pay taxes and have the right to live in a safe environment. So many other threads talk about slones trailers are bad news. I just think if these places r so bad then get rid of the bad and move in the good

The old adage that two wrongs don't add up to one right holds true here as well. I'll agree with you that most of the trailers in question are not in very good shape, but some times people have little to no alternative but move into a 'bad looking' place just to have a roof over their head...and by experience, I can tell you right now that every body who has to do this is not a 'dope head' nor does anything else illegal. However, when someone decides to take it upon themselves to 'burn these people out', the law is not going to go easy for such acts. And another thing to note, everyone is entitled to act in self-defense and they may not run off so easily...a bit of food for thought.

I have been out all day planting flowers cause I care about my property. I'm not an addict just motivated to look at my beautiful yard. I have empathy for all people but personally if I am paying taxes then as a citizen it is my duty to keep my area clean and safe. This should hold truth for all. If you smoke then no welfare. Drug test all that are on disability or welfare no matter if u live In Boston or salyersville. If u test + then "no money for you "That will put the squeeze on the dope heads and hopefully they will move to another county. No longer your problem. Your taxes are then put to good use

But I still believe that if I am a tax payer not on assistance then I have the right to live in safety. Dope heads statistically attract trouble. So what I really hope is that the ordinance forces the dope heads to another county. I would like to know that I am safe and live in a drug free community.

I agree with you 100%. However, I believe they need to drug test them, give them a chance and a certain time frame to get clean, test them again and then if they're not clean take thier check. After that if they are clean, they should be tested randomly. Everyone deserves a second chance.

Your taxes are then put to good use We find common ground on this comment, even though I do have to rent in order to have a place to live, I too care for the property I have to live on and respect for the landlord I rent from. Far too many will rent, then after doing extreme damage to the property, move off while leaving heaps of trash for the land lord to have to clean up as well as owe him/her a month or two of unpaid rent that out weighs the amount of deposit that was required when they first moved in. We are talking on this thread about the condition of trailers or property and how tenants and landlords relate to each other, welfare and how it works or how it is abused is for another thread, but also the welfare thing, as I have said all along most all problems must be handled in a legal manner and according to the laws of the land...no matter what.

I agree with unreal, I would think their are children who live in those trailers, & wishing they would burn isn't the solution. If you want to fix the problem their are multiple ways.. calling health dept, sheriffs office, newspaper.. etc.
