whats up with the new chief not having cops on patrol or on duty after 2am and some days no cops on duty at all. where is our money that pays for 24hr protection going? rob hall look him up on Google been fired before. i think he just might ruin the town. the mayor and council better get control before something happens and they get sued

I overheard some of saltville police talking saying that they only had 1 shift to cover and then no one was out? what if something happens while no one is out? who is to blame or if someone gets hurt because of this, i agree the town needs to do something about this before it get way out of hand. when people see that no officer is out things will start happening

Why should county take it over? The chief needs to have officers on duty 24hrs a day. this is saltville towns problem they need to get rid of him. Saltville never had any problems with 24hr police before him. so why does it now. Its got to be him. Is the new chief even a police officer i heard he wasn't. The town needs to step up!

Firstly, if you consider the Police Officers which have been “protecting” Saltville, I don’t know why this is worrying so many of you. I mean, one former Officer is a convicted criminal; another spends his nights on duty parked up at North Fork Manor Apts with his pants down getting head from all the resident trash there (allegedly). If you’re in Saltville and call the Police after hours, your call is answer by the County Sherriff’s Dept. They will then dispatch the “Duty Officer”. I’m pretty sure (please correct me if I am wrong) that there will still be Police Officers covering Saltville 24/7, whether Officers of the Saltville PD or not. As far as Chief Hall goes, from my personal dealings with him, he appears to be a very caring and conscientious law enforcement professional. I am sure that he knows what he is doing and will do very well in Saltville. Let’s be honest, he can’t be any worse or less competent than his predecessor.

I listen to the scanner alot. I have heard them call for a saltville officer and they have said no one is available nor is anyone on call. So what does that tell you? It means that no saltville officer will be there and if the county is busy it will take longer for someone to get there. and during that time if something happens the town will be at fault. It should not be left up to the county to get saltville calls. Marion has 24/7 chilhowie has 24/7 so why cant saltville.

What is a "Duty Officer" if there is a "Duty Officer" then they would not need to be called on the phone. That just crazy. Saltville is heading to be just like Glade Springs. Saltville Step Up! Look whats "protecting Saltville" now. What a joke. Check out Chief Rob Hall on Google and town of Twisp

Instead of complaining on Topix why don't you get out from in front of your computers and go to some of the town meetings? Sorry, I forgot, this type of thing is what most people on here live for!
