Looks like Mr. Sweeney didn't have much faith in the justice system in Sequoyah County!

Maybe he thought more might be said than he wanted said. Why else would you shoot somebody BEFORE they went to court when you could do it after court if he didn't get sentenced. Hmmmm..........

It sure looks that way. It is sad, scary, and shameful. I am curious to see how it all unfolds and if the whole truth comes out. It's like being half way through a bad movie but having a bit part in it too. I drove by the crime scene and thought what if I drove by just a little sooner. Had the kids in car too.

There were no children in the car. Tbey were not out of school yet. Thank goodness, or one of them could have been hit. And firing in close priximity of a daycare...what about those children.

No but it's still spooky to drive by at 3 with all the kids and see the PD and OSBI with the tape up smiling and excited.

Well hell yeah! Someone stands up for what is right and takes charge to see that justice is done! There's no chance to get it in the courts, especially since the low-down thief was a cop. Some of you may argue that what he did was more than an eye for an eye, but that thief sure won't be stealing anymore. So I'd be proud if the fella who shot him would have me by his side for support. Hell, it'd be an honor just to shake his hand.

Yeah, well you're like so many of the narrow minded people on this forum. All you know is what you have read. I'm quite sure there is more to this story than what we have read about. Why would you risk prison time when the court date hasn't even happened yet. I mean, this is his life as well as future we are talking about (Mark's). There is much more to this story than what has been told.

we all know the police did not steal the cattle and so who is the real theif and he is about to get caught and I think he wanted to make away with his real threat.

Well, well seems Mark didn't do the dirty deed after all....all charges dropped and he was set free !!!

Well that should be good for a lawsuit by Sweeney in sufficient amount to be repaid for the cattle that the thug stole. Man oh man does that county deserve to be taken to the cleaners. And don't start crying about innocent taxpayers. You allow that kind of cops on that kind of police force you deserve it.

Trust me; we as citizens of Sallisaw have no power to 'allow' anyone to be a cop here. Most of us know that our cops are clowns, and yet we can do NOTHING about it. The local FOP is more akin to a gang than it is a honorable union of decent lawmen. The Chief, Shaloa Edwards, is a spineless PR front who licks the feet of the FOP union who got him elected. Rest assured that if the taxpayers had any voice at all around here, then EVERY Sallisaw cop on the force now would be fired, and most would be charged for the crimes they committed while on duty.

So the 3 bullets that where going into the car and not out of the car are from a gun miss firing? Also I high doubt that Hughes would shoot himself.

If someone did shoot him, it wasn't Mark Sweeney...he was at the casino the entire time, thanks to surveillance cameras the truth will once again prevail !!!

He admitted to shooting himself "accidently". Whatever! How do you "accidently" shoot yourself driving down the street? If it was an accident why would he then blame Sweeney?

Where are all those supporters he had a month ago? And where is that mouthy mother in law? Lol time to tuck tail and run I guess!

On the news...they keep saying they can't or haven't yet found the gun?? Wouldn't it be in the truck if Hughs shot himself? I saw the truck and there were no holes in the door and no glass broken out? I'm confused....

He wasn't in that bad of shape...he could have thrown it in a dumpster or something...who knows how long he was driving around before he called 911 ??
