Has anyone seen any coyote with the A2 city limits? My cat was recently attacked on my back porch and died on the way to the hospital. I do not know for sure that it was a coyote. However, a gentleman who works for a local pest removal company told me that a group of coyote killed the geese at Homestead commons, which is very close to me. There are not any public or private organizations in Washtenaw that track such incidents so I have no idea whether or not the attack was an isolated occurence.

I was reading your story I have seen Coyote hear in Ann arbor. I to have had many cats come up missing and attacked and injured. I've seen tracks of coyote and fox tracking cats. I saw a fox attack a cat here as well, so both of these animals are preying on our cats. I'm located Platt rd area.

a few weeks ago our corgi had to get up in the middle of the night and be let out...she started barking and barking at the fence line...i looked out that there was a coyote on the other side of the fence... it didnt seem to be too nervous about my watching it...it just raised and lowered its head and watched me and our dog....then dissapeared...over the last few weeks i have heard howling at night...not every night just a few...
we live in the city near briarwood...

There are coyotes in Ann Arbor. I've seen them on the southeast and southwest side of town in wooded lots near Briarwood and also near Stone School Rd.

You cat owners better invest in a Pitbull to protect your feline friends.

Yes, definitely. In fact, I was outside letting my 10 pound dog go to the bathroom and suddenly 2 coyotes darted by no more than 50 feet away. Naturally, my dog and I booked it for the door to get inside. I'm terrified or taking her out at night sometimes because we know a few cats have been killed by them over the years around here, and she's smaller than most cats.

Anyway, we hear them all the time...one time it sounded like he was literally standing right outside my bedroom window. And obviously we've seen them. We're at about Ellsworth and Stone School. So anyone in the area, please be careful with your pets!

I live on the northwest side of town just off Maple Rd. and have seen a lone coyote crossing the street in my neighborhood. Have not heard of anyone in this area losing pets, though.

Coyotes in Marshall Park, Cherry Hill Nature Preserve, and on vacant land next to Ann Arbor Health and Geriatrics center on Earhart and Plymouth. Unlikely to see them unless pre-dawn or post-dusk (most of our sightings are in the winer, after dark). Also saw one ~10 years ago at Geddes Lake, right in front of a unit, stealing duck eggs from a nest at ~5 AM.

Late Fall '08 I saw a large one walk through my backyard. I took a picture but I had left my camera off auto mode so by the time I realized the shutter speed was improperly set the creature had disappeared into the woods--all I ended up getting was a really dark picture with an even darker blob in the middle. I live near Huron River and the woods behind my house are more or less part of Bird Hills Park. In the summer of '06 my cat was found dead and partially eaten in these woods, but what animal (if any) killed her, I don't know.

i saw one in the middle of the day yesterday, walking along our fence line at the back of the house. when i went to let our neighbor with very small dog know, they said they had seen one a few days before about 12:00...WE LIVE NEAR BRIARWOOD ,,, EAST OF BRIARWOOD...NEAR STATE AND 94.. does seeing them in the day time mean that they are more hungry than usual.
IS THERE ANYONE I CAN CALL.. more sightings as time goes on ...not comfortable with this should i be alarmed?

Yes, at 7:30-8 pm, on Friday, we were heading south on Washtenaw towards S. University and a coyote cross the street going toward Forest. I thought it was a dog, but my husband said Look it's a coyote. He was very skinny, poor thing, sorry if he ate your cat. sorry to the cat and your loss.~Sara

I saw one a couple winters ago at Huron Hills golf course, when I was sledding w/ my daughter and a friend of hers. It was after dark. The funny thing was that it was watching us sledding (and walking back up the hill). It repeatedly rolled over to slide down the hill on its back, then get up to do it again. It seemed to be playing.

There are several small packs of coyotes north of the Huron River and I've seen individual coyotes along Huron River Drive south of the river. There's no doubt they're here, getting comfortable and multiplying. They all appear to be well fed.
