Why bother with this poll? You don't have any way to remove them from office.

Working on that as we speak.
There is a way according to State and County charter.
Working on a Petition and the correct structure of the petition. May take a couple of month to put it all together though. The poll is just a preview of whats to come. The people didn't want this International property code.

Good luck on it. Never heard of anything called a state charter or a county charter.

Is this what you are referring to Everyman?.

We need to reform the Harrison County Commission Folks!!!
From West Virginia Constitution..Article IX-13

9-13. Reformation of county commissions.

The Legislature shall, upon the application of any county, reform, alter or modify the county commission established by this article in such county, and in lieu thereof, with the assent of a majority of the voters of such county voting at an election, create another tribunal for the transaction of the business required to be performed by the county commission created by this article. Whenever a county commission shall receive a petition signed by ten percent of the registered voters of such county requesting the reformation, alteration or modification of such county commission, it shall be the mandatory duty of such county commission to request the Legislature, at its next regular session thereafter, to enact an act reforming, altering or modifying such county commission and establishing in lieu thereof another tribunal for the transaction of the business required to be performed by such county commission, such act to take effect upon the assent of the voters of such county, as aforesaid. Whenever any such tribunal is established, all of the provisions of this article in relation to the county commission shall be applicable to the tribunal established in lieu of said commission. When such tribunal has been established, it shall continue to act in lieu of the county commission until otherwise provided by law.

From The WV Constitution:

The commissioners of said commissions, now in office, shall remain therein for the term for which they have been elected, unless sooner removed therefrom, in the manner prescribed by law.

Okay, so you meant the WV Constitution. Different matter. But, what do you hope to accomplish. You can't remove elected officials from office except in the manner prescribed by state law. If you want to remove the present commissioners, then you need to look at the procedures for doing that, which is only by a circuit court action for specific reasons. I don't see anything to indicate that any of those reasons exist. Merely disagreeing with action they take, which actions are authorized by law, is not sufficient to remove them from office, other than by voting them out of office at the next election.

WV Constitution provides it can be also be accomplished by petition.
Wirt County had to do something similar to this a few years back.

Senate Bill 661:
The Legislature hereby finds and declares that, by a petition presented to the county commission of the county of Wirt, at least ten percent of the registered voters of said county have requested the reformation, alteration and modification of the county commission of said county.

Millions of people don't want this Obama Health care bill at the expense of the Medicare system, but were gonna get it simply because elected officials have gone wild. They do not represent the people any more. Just as our elected officials don't represent us here in the County. Who in their right mind allows two hospitals within five miles of each other?
Who in their right mind would forgive millions of dollars in tax revenue to Woody Thrusher and associates so as to move business out of the county seat towards Bridgeport? And on and on. Looking out for the Corporate welfare system!!! As I have stated if we get in the habit of simply waiting for the election cycle to complete before removing these idiots from office the damage is done and hard to undo.

Constitutional right, guaranteed by Article III, Section 35 and Article IX, Section 13 of the Constitution of West Virginia.

Read the last couple lines of the This:

Constitutional provisions provides:
Government is instituted for the common benefit, protection and security of the people, nation or community. Of all its various forms that is the best, which is capable of producing the greatest degree of happiness and safety, and is most effectually secured against the danger of maladministration; and when any government shall be found inadequate or contrary to these purposes, a majority of the community has an indubitable, inalienable, and indefeasible right to reform, alter or abolish it in such manner as shall be judged most conducive to the public weal.
W. Va. Const. art. III,§ 3.

The Exponet Telegram is the only Nes media that presents a unbiased view of the issues in Harrison County. The pro business, pro Government,Radio station 101.3 is manned by a Carpet bagger from Ohio in the Radio talk slot at 9:00 am.He cowties down to any elected official that will come on the show and spin their position on issues effecting the Taxpayer. I,E Mike Queen on why we need to throw away more tax dollars on the Hrs school system before they improve their overall standing in the school rating system.

Point understood, but the Constitution merely allows citizens to petition the Legislature to reform county government. That does not automatically mean removal of elected officials. What happened in Wirt County?

We need to start thinking outside the box In Harrison County!!!

We need a larger more fair representation of our county. The political leadership is too narrow.
We should petition the WV Legislature for a larger commission, one commissioner for each voting district.

A larger commission might not be a bad idea, as well as designated seats for different areas. That is something you could petition for. Just be careful that it's not too many seats. Once you get above 5 or 7 people, it's not uncommon to run into various problems with operations and decision making.

Yeah, instead of three representatives for Clarksburg,Bridgeport and Thrusher inc, we could have one for each voting district in the county
that would actually represent the people of Harrison County.

There are Six,that's why I say we need 6 members on the commission one for each voting district that would achieve equal representation of all voters. Now all we need is for someone to post an electronic, and paper petition to have the commission reformed according to the WV constitution.

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Leo

Perhaps it's the fact that it's Christmas Eve and everyone is busy, but you can't help feeling that you're walking on eggshells around certain people. Their emotions are very close to the surface and could erupt at a moment's notice, perhaps in a storm of tears or a fit of pique. Calm them down and ask if you can do anything to help.
