15 awarded for actions in attack

while you have these heros that get to come home and see their families again, I have photos and memories of Keven Dagit my brother. Keven Dagit was one of the KBR drivers left behind to draw the attention away from the 1173rd gun trucks in front. Keven was drug from his truck and set on fire and drug through the streets while the Va. N.G. unit 1173rd waited in a safe zone for support. Keven and the other drivers were unarmed and relied on the military to protect them. 3 American civilians died that day and 3 were wounded. There are two (2) little girls that cry themselves to sleep because they NO longer have their daddy. I for one have foregivin these in the unit that ran from a fight, but I will always remember that these are the ones that will someday NOT fight to defend this countrys borders.

I am so upset with this unit from our state. I have been like many others miss lead by these national gaurdsmen.

I was with the 1-15 in Duluiyah, note the 117th did not call in for our manditory escorts or even inform us that they were in the AO, this with the fact that the guardsmen were woefully unprepared and complacent with 1 belt of ammo for their crew serves and soldiers with as little as 1 mag per weapon. Im sorry for the loss of the loss of all the drivers that day and wished only that we could have gotten their sooner
