In preparation for a meeting Wednesday in Tillamook, biologists have released their proposed rules for summer/fall-run Chinook fishing seasons on north coast drainages.
I have to disagree with the title of this article. The estimated returns of fall Chinook to the Nehalem is 99-percent of the 20-year average. That's only one-percent short of normal, not enough to even warrant that headline. I'll take 99-percent of any river, any day.
