animals

Does anyone know of an animal activist group here? I need a place to put my dogs temporarily or I will be thrown out of the house...I know there is a lady that is big on taking animals out of harm's way.

you might try one of the area shelters.. but I dont know about that route if you are wanting them back..

Oh , yes I want them back..one is a 13 yr old chihuahua that I promised my mother I would take care of after her death and the other is my pug who I have had for 8 yrs..if it means I sleep in my car up where the 18 wheelers park...so be it ! I can't find anything to rent that I can afford and that takes pets.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. You're in an odd situation in that you want your pets back, so you're basically just wanting a free kennel service in which someone else houses and feeds your dogs. I know that sounds like I'm being an a$&, but believe me I'm not. I honestly feel for your situation. I'm just stating that what you want is something that is out of the realm of what rescue/activist groups do on a normal basis. Rescues/groups,rescue dogs/cats, not owners of them. This is something I'm about 80% sure on so look into it, don't necessarily take my word for it. Just my opinion on what I know/understand...Anyway, good luck and I hope you find someone to take care of them, it sounds to me like you do!

Talk to some of the vets... If Moore is still around, she used to take in pets!

I am not expecting someone to keep them for free..of course, I would pay for their food..I will check with the vets and see if they know of anybody...if not I will be sleeping in my vehicle where the 18 wheelers park.

I'm not arguing with you but what is that supposed to mean? Because Salem doesn't have an activist group? Hey, I'm at the forefront for animals being very well taken care of. I just gave you my thoughts on how I thought your "search" would be perceived. I figured you would get a little fruity over the comment...There are extremely too many people tying their dogs to a tree 24/7, barely fed, no house, etc around this town-I do agree. But I don't agree that Salem sucks for the reason that you think they do....Good try, better luck next time....

If in fact you are not expecting someone to keep them for free then why haven't you cracked open the yellowpages and looked for "kennels"? or searched for them here on the net? That is what they do for a living....just to clue you in....

Dear Alma, if I wanted to go back to Louisiana, I would...certainly don't need you suggesting where I should go to live.

I remember seeing a local kennel with an ad on Rolla Net advertising for experienced help not too long ago. Maybe you could board your animals there until you find a place to move to. I have no idea what they charge, etc. but it would be worth a try.

Look sorry you havent found a place yet. But that is the price that you pay for having animals. Sorry that Im from Salem and you think this town sucks. Most people just dont have time to mess with OTHER peoples animals! Not unless you are going to pay them ever well for it.

ever well????.hmmm..maybe it sucks because it is full of ignorant people like you that can't even spell...busy doing what?? operating their meth labs which I have heard are pretty abundant around here..one right by the upper elementary school..how sad !

Maybe thats why you can't find anyone to watch your ugly muts. With your attitude you probably won't find anyone to help you. You sound like one of those people that think everyone owes you. Sorry but Salem owes you nothing!
