WOW!!! I see so many ME!ME!ME! and MY!MY!MY! I have to say this though I know I shouldn't.God forgive me! Its just too bad that the "parents" of the so many rude, crude, critical posters here (you know who you all are)did not think before bringing you thoughtless people into this world and if by chance they did plan you it's too bad they didn't take the time to teach you all manners morals and the respect that is needed so very much in this world today. There are too many of you that give us the sick society that we live in. SHAME on you all!!

They made a lot of money before they started having kids, in real estate, if I remember correctly. This was all planned before they started having their family. What I don't understand, is why everyone seems to be in such an up roar over the number of children they have. It's none of anyone's business as long as they are supporting their family & doing right by them. As far as I can see, they are. Society is way too concerned with other people's lives. As long as people are abiding by the law & supporting their own, what is the big deal? Has American turned into a bunch of old men, sitting around the coffee shop discussing other people's lives, even if they don't have any facts? In my little town, if the old guys don't have a clue, they just make stuff up. |

How can anyhone afford to feed 18 children - and why would anyone choose to bring 18 children into the world. There is no way you can give quality time to that many children, much less quality education, etc. What in the world are these people trying to prove?!!!!!

How selfish and irresponsible of the parents to bring 18 kids into this world when like others have said, resources are limited.
They hide behind God and says its his will. I don't think God intented for humans to overtake Earth as we have. It's also not fair to the older kids who have to take on parental responsiblities at such a young age. |

God said for Adam and Eve to populate the Earth, he didn't mean for all of us to keep doing so. Just like those morons in South Texas they take the bible out of context, make up their own rules and decide, hey, I think we should have many wives, they decide it's their duty to populate the earth. I believe it's time to stop. I can't believe her uterus hasn't fallen out by now.

Frankly, I think that the older children are missing out. In their specials, the older children are often sadled with caring for their younger siblings. It seems unfair and, frankly, uncaring to expect this out of your children! Children should be able to grow and develop without being unduly subjected to such things...love is one thing, but what they are doing is outside of what would be expected of a CHILD...

Mental illness can strike anyone. Its obvious mommy and daddy dog are very dysfuntional. I'm sure media hype also triggers their illness's. Are they on welfare,food stamps and other public assistance? I'm sure much has been left out of this dog story. Maybe its a guiness world record thing. Either/or something is wrong here. |

I have 2 concerns with this: The wear on Mrs. Duggar's body and health, and the fact that older kids parent the younger ones.

I'm wondering as to why the mother's OB hasn't scolded her about having babies too close to the other. Come on, your body needs a rest!! It's nice that their family is very close, but I feel for the older children. They have no outside life. When asked on why they didn't have friends, their reply was that their siblings were their friends. Again, come on! You need friends other than family!
