Historically Black College Honors 1st White Valedictorian

Cool and he must be openminded.

Well he didn't have to be that open minded, from my understanding he has a black stepfather and black brothers and sisters. So he wasn't totally new to black culture.

I saw him interviewed on T.V. today and he's soooo humble. Most white people are rather arrogant and elitist but this guy was absolutely humble. I wish him the best.

but weren't you the sick bastard, that said that if blacks kill whites, it makes America more beautiful, if that is true then you have no right to criticise any one on anything.

I think it's great too, but some of the right wing talk show hosts are bragging about how he went there and kicked butt. That's a fact, but they are blowing this [racial aspect] way out of proportion.

Those dummies would rather see and portray it as some lone white man overcoming the odds of a black college to end up on top. Well they don't realize that blacks are more open to others and celebrate achievement regardless of one's race.

His grade point was 4.0. I've known Blacks at majority white institutions that had a higher GPA than a 4.0. So I guess this means that Blacks kicked butt at those institutions too. It's sad that whites can't be as loving and accepting of other races as Blacks are.

I agree. But it isn't all whites who are not honest and open, just those few from the right that I mentioned who were trying to distort reality and keep up tensions. Division for the sake of division is their creed. I'm a conservative so I'm not trying to make this a political issue either.

I do not get why some of you think whites are so bad, we're not, and im not saying that blacks are either. We're all equal in God's sight.
It's true that some whites can be crude and racist, but blacks can also, and asians, hispanics, etc. I'm not racist, and all of the white people i know aren't either. Besides, some of my best friends are black, i do not look at the colur of a person's skin, i loko at their heart and personality, anyway, i just wanted to voice my opinion, and i hope that you do not think that i am a rude and arrogant person, i hope for peace in the world between everyone...

Can I ask how you get a higher grade point average then 4.0? At most colleges 4.0 means you got all A's. Perhaps high school they have weighted grades for honors course where you can get higher than a 4.0, but college...not normally. Oh and being Valedictorian doesn't mean that you were accepted by your peers, not that he wasn't, but Valedictorian is decided by GPA not by popularity.
