school lunches

I recently had the opportunity to speak with some of the Lunch Ladies from our School System. I was surprised to learn about what our poor kids go thru at lunch time. We are being told that our children are receiving good/nutritious lunches; but that is not the case. Children who pick up white milk and may have wanted chocolate are expected to drink it; no switching (even if it has not been opened yet). Moldy buns that have been in the package along side one that is not moldy as of yet; is placed for the child to eat. Should a child forget their brought from snack they are not allowed to return to the classroom to get it.

We; as parent's drop our kids off to school and believe that they are being offered the best lunch only to find out the lunch being offered could make them very sick... soured milk, moldy rolls, what next??? Who protect's our children from instances like these??????????

In all honesty? The typical parent stays home to watch Survivor, rather than inform themselves of what's going on with the district, and raise their concerns to the superintendent or school board. That's why the BOE gets away with just about anything they want.
