Candy or medicine? How pills can be mistaken for sweets

Full story: The Daily Press

Years ago, (drug manufacturing companies) used to place a sugar coating on tablets. Pills were shiny, with brighter colors. Old Motrins looked like big Skittles Chocolate or Ex-Lax? Tums or Sweet Tarts? Could you tell the difference? Could your kids? With a variety of colors, flavors and even scents available, medicine can be very misleading. via The Daily Press

I think it's true. When I take an Advil, it has a good taste and kids could mistake that for M&Ms.

Jimmy the Greek says that maybe you should learn how to spell before you go and try and do any type of project.

I am not sure if I agree. I went through life and never had a problem. If a child would mistake an Exlax pill or TUMS pill for a Sweettart or an Advil for an M&M you have to blame the parents for not storing them in a medicine cabinet. Both look nothing like the other. Also, any child of age that cannot read TUMS or know what they are...I don't know what to tell you.
As for the taste, in my opinion - they all taste awful.

To answer the original question asked, there are also gummy bear vitamins...

Although I do agree with you Jimmy, as a fellow Greek.

i believe that children under the age of 3 won't know the diffrenece between medicine or candy. These two are easy to mistake and can lead to serious problems.

I think that if a child mistakes pills for candy, then its the parents problem for not explaining to them what the difference is.

Im doing a project on it and i found out a lot of stuff that you have to be careful with when you have a baby or even a little sister or brother. Parents sometimes get over welmed with stuff and they mistake stuff for other things. I read in a article that over 65,000 kids are dieing for this mistake.I dont think its the parents fault I mean I know that they did it and every thing but every one makes mistakes.
