I find it hard to believe that the lake is ok to swim in. It took a week to find out the water was bad, it only took one day to find out its good? That doesn't sound right. I've been sick for two weeks because of that nasty water. I wont ever go back.

The place gave me the creeps the first and last time I was there.

Water was a bit too cloudy and warm to feel safe in.

Tree limb fell on a little girl while we were there. I've stayed away from the place ever since.

Fun place I'm sure, but not for me.

Fort worth star telegram had a story this morning. They took the comments offline because of the negativity regarding the cleanliness of this facility.

ottom Line Folks - people of different cultures have different rules, socially acceptable behaviors, and more relaxed standards of hygiene - in some cases - they just don't understand. Instead of making them feel at home and welcomed by ignoring their behaviors - we should make them feel welcome and show them our standards and expect that they become RESPONSIBLE citizens. It is only respect when you go to someone's home that you respect them and their home - their rules, etc. Why are we not doing that people? Are we afraid? Of what? Why is it considered wrong to want a place where I can go with my children, swim, enjoy the peaceful surroundings without having to step over nasty diapers and be bumped into every 5-minutes by an irresponsible child who is being encouraged by an irresponsible parent? Polite society has been replaced by cultures with an agenda who know we are too afraid to confront them. So now they are out of control and we are feeding it. I say we take back our society and start expecting adults to act like adults and children to behave themselves. I live here too. Why should I ignore their ignorant disrespectful behavior and feel bad because I want peace and respect? Wake UP people. Burger's has been going downhill steadily for years. Overcrowed, unmanaged crowds. Yes, someone will come by and pick up the nasty diaper on the ground, yes, they will tell the people for the 3rd time to turn off the music, yes, they will tell them no alcohol allowed and they may even ask patrons to leave after they have violated the rules multiple times. Back in the 70s - you never saw any of that. No one violated the rules because we respected one another and we knew we would be removed from the park. We may never get it back like it was.

you can thank the minorities for those behaviors

I have serviced and cleaned pools for over 20 years. The only pool I will even consider getting into is the one in MY backyard. People have sex in pools releasing bodily fluids, they dispose of the condoms in the pool. as witnessed by having to remove them from the pump motor strainer basket. They defecate in the pool. thu runs and all. They urinate very often. Ever see the folks that are obviously drinking beer, but never seem to make a trip to the facilities? Other than private, home pools, most every swimming pool, other than professionaly used, and/or college pools, are nothing more than toilets.
I even arrived at an apartment complex pool, nice apartments too, and found a lady with a bar of soap and two kids, giving them a bath. Geez!
BOTTOM LINE: I am a Nationally Certified Pool Operator and you will NEVER find me or my family at Burgers Lake. My God that place is so nasty! Crypto is a symptom of a MUCH worse problem the Authorities do not want to mention. Neglect. Man, people, wake up! Do Not Swim At Burgers Lake, it will never be safe for humans in my opinion.

Chlorine is expensive = owners use less to save $$$$= unacceptably low Chlorine Levels in Pools = Sick Swimmers

Fact: Did you know that burning eyes and the smell of Chlorine is not a sign of too much Chlorine?
True: Burning, red eyes while swimming is a result of TOO LITTLE CHLORINE, and is caused by Chloramines, or, bad Chlorine. The result is bacteria that get in the eyes and cause soreness and redness.

Ever walk up on a pool that "smelled salty", like sea water? Well take a wild guess at what that salty odor is from!

I'm tired of hearing about all this on the news, etc. I'm sure if we tested many more pools, spring fed lakes, they would have the bacteria too.

Does make you think though......

Not true dude. I have been servicing pools for 22 years. If proper rules regarding babies in diapers, persons with open wounds or disease, and proper pool care are observed, it won't happen. The problem is that some minorities from other countries do not have the same hygeine and cleanliness standards as we expect in America. They visit our pools, allow their babies to swim with diapers on, and toss the diapers on the ground, in the water, or try to stuff them down toilets. I will bet you any amount of money that is how it happened. Have you been ther? There a 1000 little Pedros in diapers. That place is a cesspool. They need to shut it down for good.

P.S.- the diaper doesn't keep the poop in. Not even the Huggies Swimmers. Put a baggie on your hand and comfortably place a rubberband around your wrist. Stick your hand in water for 30 minutes. I guarantee you have made an exchange.

My whole family got violently ill after swimming in Burger's Lake. It was over the 4th of July weekend. My four small children and my husband was violently ill. My 7 mos. pregnant sister-in-law ended up in the hospital. Her 3 yr old son was also very sick. Don't tell me that these people didn't know about the lake being contaminated. Greed took over because of the busy fourth of July weekend. These people should be sued and put out of business. People could have died from this virulent parasite.
