I was NOT impressed with Legends--overpriced and not worth it. Try La Plage in Wading River.

Lucy's Cafe is crap. Went there once for lunch and they said they were closing early to do a poetry reading. And they are only open about 6 hours in the day. How do they do any business?!

I think yiz forgot one of Long Islands best kept secrets- Vesuvios.

We make our sauce fresh each morning, and serve up homemade manigut, gabigol, prosciutt, sfoiglatelles and of course, my own personal favorite, BRASCIOLES.

I hope to see yiz all at Vesuvios, where the gravy is good EVERY NIGHT.

If you eat at another italians restaurant (like Carnivals of Port Jeff Station) then you are a big spaccone for doing so.

Vesuvios also features fresh mozarella, made by Furio Giunta our friend from the other side.

I say to yiz: "DID YIZ EAT???"

NewsRag restaurant reviews are predictably bad. All the places mentioned are well known, heavily advertised over-priced joints. "Coolfish" hidden?? "Legends"?? It has about 60 signs on 25A. You couldn't miss them if you tried.

Here's a secret. Find an ethnic grocery store and ask where the good ethnic restaurant for that group is located. You'll find places NewsRag never heard of.

How does Coolfish always get recommended by Newsday in oneway or another? It seems like every week another plug for Coolfish, how about the other 10,000 resturants on LI.

Don't go anywhere near Syosset, Jericho or Roslyn. The cellphone yappers and tightwads are all up there. Always complaining about something in the hopes of getting some sort of discount.

I tried "Greek Corner" and it was pretty awful- old, salty gyro meat and fries served in a big puddle of oil. As for the other restaurants, it seems someone is getting paid off to write these glowing reviews and to constantly keep the names of certain restaurants in the newspaper.

Everyone should try Porters On The Lane in Bellport Village. It's great the owners are always on hand whacting over things. This place is a must go. Check it out. It should be on this list.

Ad bucks = great review

Gianotti used to rate a certain restaurant best on LI for years running. His reviews always hyped "prestigious wine list". The place was less than so-so. But they always had an ad in that paper.

Coolfish is one of those restaurants that caters to business expense accounts. The location alone would tell you that. So Coolfish is forever trying to get a review which says, "That sucker you're trying to close a deal with will fold if you take him for dinner and a drink or five at this place".

Daily Horoscope for January 6

Virgo

If you've got an important task to accomplish, this is the time to do it. A Libra Moon ensures that you're level headed, focused and unmoved by the behaviour of others for the next day or so. Don't put any undue pressure on yourself, Virgo: if you don't get it right the first time, you know there'll be another chance. The pessimistic people that you are likely to encounter today need your logic and positive input.
